Right then, what we betting on tonight?
Been looking into Spain v Austria and this angle caught my eye.
I’m looking at Marcel Sabitzer, who plays quite high for his national team and scored from outside the box against Algeria last time out.
That’s the second shot on target from outside the box he’s managed at this World Cup, with the other coming from a free kick against Argentina.
He’s had five shots at the World Cup, four of them have come from outside the box.
Sabitzer should continue to be on free kicks in this game against a Spain side that aren’t shy to be aggressive, committing 10+ fouls in each of their three matches and giving away 14 fouls against Uruguay last time out.
Sabitzer can profit from these situations as one of Austria’s free kick takers to go alongside his ability from open play.
Sabitzer scored three goals across his eight starts for Austria during qualifying from 16 shots on target (2.05 per 90).
Nine of his 24 shots came from outside the box (37.5%), including four of his efforts on target.
Austria may not dominate the game, but they can certainly hurt Spain in transition with Sabitzer offering a particularly strong threat from distance in this Round of 32 clash.
The angles worth considering here are:
• Sabitzer 1+ Shots on Target @ 2.50
• Sabitzer 1+ Shots on Target from Outside the Box @ 4.00
