It takes 18 months plus to get approval, the landowners move to other projects and the uk misses its targets again.

@Rebirding1 @wildforest_matt I understand your concern about the high percentage of Sitka spruce but maybe it is a good site for Sitka and there is open space and broadleaves designed into the site

Well-spotted @wildforest_matt. It’s interesting how the creep of Sitka goes largely unchallenged, yet constitutes the greatest desert in our country. Of course we need to grow timber, but we also need to grow woodlands filled with light and life. The balance is still way off.

@andyheald Process problems run deep.
As an agent managing a planting scheme it is impossible to budget as there is no timeframe, no process accountability and a presumption against planting trees.
So why would you do it?
