@davidfowl How about https://t.co/LQWqtQ7jH2 and possibly the logic in fish_update_completions … I guess you’re on your own with the preference for strongly typed anything :-)
@davidfowl Yes, the standard Dockerfiles generated by VS and templates are crazy. The simple ones you actually need most of the time are quite alright. But in any case the “dotnet publish” path ends way too soon and there’s no bridge, so no recommendation from me.
@davidfowl I would say it’s a path I wouldn’t recommend to anybody because the point in time where they have to redo it all and use Dockerfiles is rarely far away. “docker init” is a much better general purpose recommendation.
@davidfowl In a nutshell - in spite of what feels like hundreds of extra project file options, much of what is typically done in a Dockerfile is still impossible. You should have saved the time to introduce most of these options and emitted a starting point Dockerfile instead.
This just in: my Bluesky profile is now at https://t.co/Crl1FmZ5uj since I cleverly changed it and didn't notice the screenshot showed the old version :-)
Last week I had the privilege to contribute my talk "Advanced Pattern Matching in C#" to Microsoft's .NET Conf 2024 online event. The recording is now on YouTube: https://t.co/kqh0SGUdYy Many thanks to the organizers for including me! #DotNetConf2024#mvpbuzz@dotnetcnf@dotnet
Last week I had the great pleasure of speaking at Øredev in Malmö. A full room was interested in my Event Sourcing talk, and there were many good questions! Many thanks for the excellent organization, and for inviting me! #Oredev2024@oredev
@BilliCodes Or… you could just learn how they work and write them when you need them. I think others might have said that, but perhaps it needs repeating. What’s next, “cool code snippets for your effort free programming projects”?
This week I'll be at Øredev in Malmö to present on CQRS and Event Sourcing and their impressive powers to improve communication structures in (micro?)service architectures. I'm looking forward to it very much!
