Energized seeing how many French scientists showed up to Stand up for Science in Paris. Now it’s our turn. Stand up and show up today! San Diego- we’ll be at UCSD at noon
There will be 2 March 7th #StandUpForScience events held in San Diego, both open to the public:
✅ UC San Diego Geisel Library 12:00pm-2:00pm
✅ City Hall / Waterfront Park 2:00pm-5:00pm (Begins with press conference at City Hall, followed by a march to Waterfront Park rally.)

The ongoing freeze & proposed NIH budget cuts endanger the future of medical breakthroughs. These cuts will stall projects, disrupt labs, & drive talented scientists—especially early-career researchers—out of the field. The long-term impact? Fewer treatments, delayed innovations, and setbacks in life-saving research.
Even more alarming—programs supporting historically excluded groups are being targeted. Science thrives on diversity, and cutting these initiatives is a blow to progress.
We’re mobilizing. We’re calling on policymakers to protect research funding. Join us—write, call, and speak up. Science is not a partisan issue. The cost of inaction is too high.

have ppl found any funders that support toolmaking? I want to keep making tools for people, but there is a seemingly irresistible force pushing us towards hypothesis-driven research. so far, funders don't want to hear about tech dev. insights for neuro & climate would be great tx
do I know any neuroscientists on this platform? we're hiring a neuroscientist
come help us build a biohybrid BCI
please share if you know neuroscientists

Our paper, "The promise and peril of comparing fluorescence lifetime in biology revealed by simulations", is now on @eLife: https://t.co/cASRJYO5wb. Hope readers will use our package to design and interpret FLIM experiments rigorously, and also give us feedback.
The Tschida Lab is keen to recruit a new PhD student in this upcoming cycle. We are on the hunt for students interested in the neural circuits that regulate vocal communication and other social behaviors. Happy to chat more with interested students! Please RT!
ONIX is a data acquisition system for recording neural activity in freely behaving mice. It can accommodate a variety of recording technologies, while maintaining minimal impact on animal behavior.
