Apple’s continued exclusion of Iranian phone numbers (+98) represents a policy of corporate over-compliance that contradicts the explicit authorizations within US Treasury General License D-2.

According to Paragraph (a)(1) of the license, the exportation of "fee-based or no-cost services" is authorized, specifically including "user authentication services" and "cloud-based services". There is no legal impediment under OFAC regulations preventing Apple from facilitating SMS 2FA or iCloud access for Iranian users. 

Currently, the necessity of using proxies and VPNs to bypass censorship frequently triggers Apple ID security protocols. Without support for +98 numbers for identity verification, users face permanent account lockouts despite having legal clearance to access these services.

We formally urge @tim_cook, @gregjoz, and @cue to align Apple’s compliance policy with the text of General License D-2 and reinstate service availability for Iranian citizens.

📌اپل دیگر بهانه‌ای برای تحریم شماره‌های ایران (+98) ندارد!

سیاست فعلی شرکت اپل در مسدود کردن شماره‌های ایران، مصداق بارز «سخت‌گیری فراقانونی» است و با مجوزهای صادر شده توسط خزانه‌داری آمریکا در تضاد است.

خلاصه آنچه به انگلیسی نوشتم و اهمیت آن:
طبق بند (a)(1) از «مجوز عمومی D-2»، ارائه خدمات رایگان یا پولی، مشخصا شامل «سرویس‌های احراز هویت» و فضای ابری برای کاربران ایرانی مجاز است. بنابراین اپل هیچ مانع قانونی برای ارسال SMS کد تایید دو مرحله‌ای (2FA) به شماره‌های ایران ندارد.

⚠️ چرا این مسئله حیاتی است؟
همه ما برای عبور از فیلترینگ مجبور به استفاده از VPN هستیم. تغییر مداوم IP باعث می‌شود سیستم امنیتی اپل حساس شده و اپل‌آیدی را قفل (Lock) کند. در این شرایط، چون شماره ایران پشتیبانی نمی‌شود، راهی برای احراز هویت نداریم و اکانت (و تمام اطلاعات آن) برای همیشه از دست می‌رود.

در این توییت، با استناد دقیق حقوقی از تیم کوک و مدیران ارشد اپل خواستیم که سیاست‌هایشان را با مجوز D-2 تطبیق دهند.

لطفا برای پایان دادن به این تبعیض دیجیتال، ریتوییت کرده و مدیران اپل و رسانه‌های معروف را منشن کنید. از توجه شما به این موضوع سپاسگزارم.
