A reminder from Atomic Habits by James Clear:
“It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.”
Allah will literally sit you down and break you to humble you, then will isolate you to build you.
Then will give you back everything ten fold to prove to you He's real and everything happens for a reason.
This sentence by Van Gogh hits hard:
“If I am worth anything later, I am worth something now. For wheat is wheat, even if people think it is a grass in the beginning.”
When I started learning networking in cybersecurity, I hated it so much 😭
Subnetting alone used to ruin my mood. IP addresses, routing tables, ports, VLANs… it all looked like pure confusion to me.
I was seriously searching things like: “Can I do cybersecurity without networking?” “Which cybersecurity role doesn’t need networking?” 😅
Instead of learning networking, I was busy looking for ways to escape it.
But later I realized something…
Almost everything in cybersecurity connects back to networking somehow.
SOC alerts. Firewalls. Packet analysis. VPNs. Attack investigations. Even simple troubleshooting.
You really can’t avoid it.
So I stopped trying to run from it and just started learning slowly. One video. One lab. One confusing concept at a time.
And funny enough… the same networking I used to hate is now one of the most interesting parts of cybersecurity for me.
If networking currently makes you feel frustrated or dumb, trust me, you’re not alone.
Most of us suffered through it at first.
Keep learning. One day the things that look impossible right now will suddenly start clicking.
The greatest days of this dunya are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah
When Ramadan approaches, you find the majority of Muslims filled with joy at the coming of that blessed month, eager for its arrival, and preparing themselves for its virtues, the immense reward of deeds within it, and the fact that it contains the last ten nights, the greatest nights of the year, and Laylat al-Qadr, which is the greatest single night of the year.
Yet here we are, on the cusp of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which are the greatest days of the entire year.
Their daytime is even greater than the daytime of the last ten nights of Ramadan.
Within them lies the Day of Arafah, the absolute greatest day of the year and the day on which الله emancipates the most souls from the Fire.
Indeed, the daytime of the Day of Arafah is greater than the daytime of Laylat al-Qadr.
Within these ten days also lies the Day of Sacrifice (EID).
Where, then, are those who will roll up their sleeves for these momentous days and for righteous deeds within them?
Where are the seekers of reward and recompense?
Our Creator has bestowed His grace upon us by magnifying the reward and recompense during these ten days, making them a season for acts of obedience, drawing close to Him, and the remembrance and exaltation of الله, the Mighty and Majestic.
So roll up the sleeves of diligence and turn completely toward الله.
These days will pass in the blink of an eye, those who win will win, and those who fail will fail. May الله make us and you among the successful.
Don't let these days pass without exploiting them in acts of obedience and devotion.
Convey this to one another and remind people of the virtue of these days, for whoever guides to good will have a reward similar to the one who performs it.
We ask الله to make us among those emancipated from the Fire on the Day of Arafah and among those who are forgiven. We ask Him, the Mighty and Majestic, for success, for we are incapable and weak without His tawfeeq and guidance.
Here are the Ahadith regarding the virtue of these ten days, the best deeds to perform within them, and some of the narrations of the Salaf and scholars concerning their excellence and the diligence required during them:
1.
On the authority of Abdullah ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه), the Prophet ﷺ said:
"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to الله than these days" meaning the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
They said: "Not even Jihad in the cause of الله?"
He said: "Not even Jihad in the cause of الله, except for a man who went out risking himself and his wealth and returned with nothing."
Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, No. 969.
2.
On the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar (رضي الله عنه), the Prophet ﷺ said:
"There are no days greater in the sight of الله, nor any days in which deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days.
So increase within them the utterance of Tahleel (La ilaha illa Allah), Takbeer (Allahu Akbar), and Tahmeed (Alhamdulillah)."
Source: Recorded by Ahmad (5446)
3.
On the authority of Jabir (رضي الله عنه), the Prophet ﷺ said:
"The greatest days of this world are the ten days"meaning the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
It was said: "Not even their equal in the cause of الله?"
He said: "Not even their equal in the cause of الله, except for a man whose face became covered in the dust [of the battlefield]."
Source: Recorded by al-Bazzar with a Hasan chain
4.
On the authority of Abu Qatadah al-Ansari (رضي الله عنه), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah, and he said:
"It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year."
Source: Sahih Muslim, No. 1162.
5.
On the authority of one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, she said:
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Ashura, and three days of each month."
Source: Sunan Abi Dawud, No. 2437.
6.
On the authority of Aisha (may اللهbe pleased with her), the Prophet ﷺ said:
"There is no day on which الله frees more slaves from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.
Indeed, He draws near and then boasts of them to the angels, saying: 'What do these people want?'"
Source: Sahih Muslim, No. 1348.
7.
"Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah used to go out to the marketplace during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah reciting the Takbeer, and the people would recite the Takbeer along with their Takbeer."
Source: Recorded by al-Bukhari in a mu'allaq
Statements of the Salaf and Scholars:
Al-Hasan al-Basri (رحمه الله) said:
"Fasting a single day during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah is equivalent to fasting two months."
Reference: Lata'if al-Ma'arif by Ibn Rajab, p. 262.
Al-Awza'i (رحمه الله) said:
"It has reached me that a deed performed on one of the ten days is like the measure of a military expedition in the cause of الله, fasting its day and guarding during its night, unless a person is specifically granted martyrdom."
Reference: Recorded by al-Bayhaqi.
Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) resolved the comparison between Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah, saying:
"The nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan are superior to the nights of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, while the daytime of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah is superior to the daytime of the ten days of Ramadan. By this detail, the confusion is removed.
This is proven by the fact that the last ten nights of Ramadan are preferred because they contain Laylat al-Qadr, which is a night.
The ten of Dhul-Hijjah are preferred because of their days, as they contain the Day of Sacrifice, the Day of Arafah, and the Day of Tarwiyah."

If you are born in the trenches like some of us and you want to break out .
You cannot afford to be mediocre
You must be laser and hyper focus, You need serious clarity! what kind of success do you need ? Define it, Write it down today
Everyone who knows me at Ijegun will tell you "Adija Oni marry si Ijegun, koni bimo sibi" I always say I will never be a victim of teenage pregnancy, it was very rampant around Me. Book was my shield
Be prepared to work harder, yes Harder than an average person. Hard work is the currency you pay the rich and elites to join them
You will read and wider than the Rich, Be aware that an average rich person is an avid reader BUT you must be prepared to do more so that when your opportunity comes you will be able to NEGOTIATE at their level , Trust me on this, If you can communicate with them , you can mix to a certain extent in their group
Find a Mentor in your niche and discipline, listen to Instructions, follow the guidelines and Templates giving to you and be ready to do way more than your mentor, Yes DO IT , and be ready to serve . Serve
BE BOLD AnD Audacious , Knowledge will give you the advantage
Be Extremely prayerful, Ask for favour , Grace, God's help, Ask that your efforts shall be blessed but Remember that Prayer without commensurate work is nothing
May our efforts be blessed , I stop for now
Inside every one of us, there is a battle happening in stages. The Quran identifies three distinct levels of the human soul depending on how much we control our desires. Who can name them?
When I remember my sins, which are countless and beyond measure, and I recall what the Salaf were upon
how they could literally count their sins, how they knew their shortcomings, and the sheer magnitude of their fear of their Lord
despite their nights spent in prayer, their days spent fasting, and their scrupulousness and asceticism
and then I look at my own condition, I am left completely broken.
I honestly don't know how I will stand before my Lord.
What could I possibly say when my sins are displayed before me on a Day when every soul will find exactly what it has done laid bare?
How will I answer the One who showered me with endless blessings while I met Him with nothing but disobedience?
How wretched, how miserable, and how ungrateful I am.
Oh, the utter regret, the sorrow, and the ruin.
What a pitiful state it is for a soul to willingly drag itself toward its own destruction.
My Lord, I disavow before You any power or might of my own.
I completely acknowledge my weakness, I confess to my sins, and I bear witness to Your endless favors upon me.
Forgive me, my Lord, guide me, and direct my steps, for if You abandon me and leave me to my own device for even the blink of an eye, I will perish in total and absolute ruin.
Something still marvels me about the Quran to this day. I wonder how a book could be so audacious.
Imagine opening a book, and the first line you hit is:
ذلك الكتاب لا ريب فيه
"This is the Book about which there is no doubt."
We all know that when a human writes, we almost always start with an apology in the preface. We say we tried our best, but any mistakes are ours.
The Quran does the exact opposite of that. It did not offer a disclaimer. It offered a finality. It says: there is no mistake, nor doubt about my authenticity. Anything you read and find in me, rest assured, it is nothing but the truth.
The shutdown of the possibility of error before a single story is even told is the ultimate audacious power move.
For the past 1440+ years since the Quran was sent down, NO ONE has been able to find a mistake. They’ve only been running in circles.
This is what gives me audacity. It gives me confidence in my ability to recite the Quran without fear anywhere.
May the Almighty make you and me from the people of the Quran 🙏👏🏿
