So let me get this straight…

During COVID, government imposed eviction moratoriums across cities and states.

A lot of Americans still do not understand what that actually meant.

It did NOT mean government paid everybody’s rent.

It meant landlords were often legally blocked from removing tenants for nonpayment.

But the landlord’s obligations NEVER stopped.

Mortgage?
Still due.
Property taxes?
Still due.

Insurance?
Still due.
Water bills?
Still due.

Heating systems?
Still due.
Repairs?
Still due.

Code violations?
Still due.
So imagine a small Black landlord in a struggling neighborhood with a duplex or triple they worked decades to buy.

Tenants stop paying for months… sometimes years.
Meanwhile inflation explodes.
Material costs explode.
Insurance spikes.
Taxes rise.
Savings disappear.

That owner drains retirement accounts and maxes out credit cards just trying to survive while politicians stand behind podiums pretending compassion costs nothing.
Then comes the final insult.

Buildings deteriorate because cash flow collapsed…
and now politicians like Zohran Mamdani point at the deterioration THEY helped create and say:
“Negligent landlord.”
“Take the building.”
“Transfer ownership.”
So government creates the financial hemorrhage…
then blames the wounded for bleeding.

The wealthy corporate developers survive.
Massive investment firms survive.
Politically connected nonprofits survive.

But the working class landlord?
The old Black couple trying to leave property to their children?
The immigrant family that scraped together enough for 6 units?
The retired tradesman depending on rental income?

CRUSHED.
And Americans better wake up to what this really means.
Because once government decides “neglect” justifies control…
the definition of neglect expands every year.
Today it is deferred maintenance.
Tomorrow it becomes “underutilized property.”
Then “community necessity.”
Then “housing equity.”
That road always ends with less private ownership and more centralized control.

You do not save neighborhoods by destroying the people who stayed invested in them.
You do not stabilize cities by terrifying small property owners.
And you absolutely do not rebuild Black wealth by making ownership itself politically dangerous.

Watch carefully.

The people who suffered under the moratoriums are now being portrayed as villains for surviving the policies imposed on them.

They're all priced to within a few pennies of each other, appear completely identical except for the nameplate, and obviously all came out of the same factory. You text your blacksmith friend to ask if they're legit. He tells you he got one like that from KIXJBU a few years ago, and that it's been great and a terrific deal. You thank him, but KIXJBU seems to have folded so you buy the one from UEJQIP. When it arrives, it feels suspiciously light. You scratch it and realize it's iron-plated aluminum.

You buy an American anvil. It's five times the price of the competition, but it comes from a brand that your great-grandfather used to love. It comes boxed with a warranty registration postcard, twenty pages of safety instructions, assay certificate, and a regulatory slip which lists its FCC certification and ITAR registration. It looks just like your friend's KIXJBU. There's a "Made In China" sticker on the bottom.

You buy a Russian anvil. It arrives coated in cosmoline, wrapped in newspaper from 1974, and weighing 40% more than advertised. The finish looks like it was machined with a shovel. The face is not flat, but somehow this does not matter. You drop it off a truck, accidentally leave it outside for six winters, and use it to straighten a bulldozer blade. It's fine.

You buy a Swedish anvil. It comes flat-packed in a long cardboard box with cheerful Neo-Grotesk lettering and a line drawing of a smiling man assembling it with an Allen key. The instructions contain no words, only pictograms showing the anvil face, horn, waist, feet, and 112 identical-looking fasteners. Halfway through assembly, you discover that the pritchel hole was installed upside down, but only because you used peg B17 where you should have used peg B71. Once assembled, it is clean, stable, and works better than it has any right to. You immediately wonder whether you should have bought two.

You buy a Japanese anvil. It arrives wrapped in rice paper inside a paulownia box, accompanied by a certificate bearing three generations of signatures and a photograph of the first production example being presented to the Emperor. The face has been hand-polished by a seventy-eight-year-old master whose family has made striking surfaces since the Muromachi period. You are given detailed instructions for oiling it with a cloth folded in a specific way. It is the most beautiful object you own. You never quite work up the nerve to strike it.

Sprayed on soy planted where rainforest used to be. Soy is harvested by a combine made in Illinois running on Saudi diesel. Shipped to Belgium. Extracted with hexane, a petroleum solvent. Hexane is mostly removed. Isolate is shipped to a food-tech start-up in California. Combined with methylcellulose, beetroot extract for the blood effect, coconut oil, sunflower oil, gum arabic, yeast extract, and twelve other ingredients you wouldn't feed a dog. Extruded through a high-shear processor to mimic muscle fibre. Shipped to a supermarket in Hackney. Bought by a man with a tote bag.

Tote bag man eats the product, gets indigestion, and posts a video about how the cow is the problem.

Eight thousand miles. Sixteen industrial processes. Four continents. Three solvents. One marketing budget the size of a small country's GDP.

Or.

Grass. Cow. Human.

Three words. Same field for a thousand years.

We have somehow convinced ourselves the eight-thousand-mile version is the sustainable one.

The fish is the meal. The rice is there to mop up the dashi.

Acknowledging any of this would mean admitting that the longest-lived population on Earth eats half its protein from animals. And that conclusion doesn't fit the pamphlet.

The amount of self-hate Americans have towards their own history is truly unreal.

They defeated slavery by fighting against their own family.
They shut Europe out of the western hemisphere so that nations wouldn't live under colonization forever.
They had the ability to stay out of world war 1 but they went and died to help Europeans.
They had the ultimate power in the nuclear bomb. They also had access to all of Europe's colonies that were in shambles. But instead they promoted freedom. They rebuilt Japan and Germany after defeating them in war. They stood down the Soviet Union, even as the world jeered them.
They sent soldiers to places like Vietnam and Afghanistan that died TRYING to create a better world (even if you disagree with those wars, the intentions were fairly good)
And they sent more missionaries to the world than maybe any other country in history. Translated more Bibles into indigenous languages than any other country in history. Ran bigger charities than any other country in history. Created more Christian resources than any other country in history.

Whether it was stopping the Dutch from reconquering Indonesia to the Berlin Airlift to giving Cuba its freedom in the Spanish-American war to saving China from the Japanese America has at least ATTEMPTED to do good with its power.

Yes yes, America has problems. People are imperfect. But goodness gracious does the world have a lot to be grateful for in America. And when we could have taken SO much from the world we have often chosen not to. Rome, Britain, Mongols, Assyrians, Soviets, Chinese, no other group has ever shown the restraint America has consistently shown with such vast power at its fingertips.

We didn't even get into the GIGANTIC technological advances, consumer advances, convenient lifestyle changes America has pioneered. From electricity to space to the light bulb to the smart phone to many cures in medicine and agriculture to the airplane the world has been enormously blessed by America.

When we were going through the state-mandated foster/adoption training, there was 4 Christian couples, a morbidly obese bulldyke and her androgenous blue-haired goblin, a section 8 couple with tattoos up and down their bodies (who bragged about living totally off of the foster care placements), a conservative, wealthy black couple, and another military couple.

One of the things they reiterated time and again was that doster kids were NOT allowed to sleep with their adopted parents. Makes sense.

But then they had a "meet the parents" event where a bunch of people who had been successfully placed with kids came in to share their stories.

One of the "couples" was a 60-year-old white dude who had divorced his wife of 30 years and abandoned his family, moved a 20-year-old Filipino lady boy in, and the whole presentation was the lady boy giggling about how their adopted "son" slept in his bed and was his "little play thing" (his words) while the old man worked.

We were horrified. As we looked at each other with "you gotta be shitting me" looks, the white liberal women running the agency were laughing along, loving it.

I raised my hand and asked how that squares up with the rule of "no co-sleeping", and the harridans in charge went ballistic.

We had already had and passed a home inspection, but they sent up another "inspector" within days and failed our house on the exact things they had required us to remodel in our home and had praised during the previous inspection.

We got dropped from the program later that week with no explanation and no recourse. In the phone call (to my wife, because the shitlib AWFL was not going to face me), my wife was told she did not talk enough in class, and I talked too much. Wife challenged that, of course, and the AWFL just yelled "I don't care! My decision is FINAL!" and hung up.

It was the longhouse.

This was approx 2015 in Redlands, CA. We worked with an agency called "The Kindship Center".

We kept in touch with the normal adoptee hopefuls. We found out that not a single one of the Christian, military, or normal families were placed, but all the gang-bangers, goblins, and freaks didn't have to wait at all to have kids placed in their homes.
