*If anyone else posted this gorgeous joke I wouldn't have been able to see it because I’ve blocked every variation of the phrase “y’all aren’t ready for that conversation”
If I had been around when our planet was made of delicious Bay Area-style deep dish pesto pizza or I would have gobbled up Earth but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation*
A lot of people in the comments defining evil as "upsetting to me" or "about an evil guy" and way fewer defining it as openly racist, sexist, homophobic, fascist, nationalistic, etc
What are some examples of truly evil movies? Not necessarily in terms of depicting it, or thematizing it (or ideology/politics) but that truly feel like they’re channeling something awful into the world?(This was prompted by preparing a lecture on SPOORLOS).
@axfelix I’m looking forward to seeing how people rate this movie at some point in the future, when the hollywood landscape is either somehow even worse or somehow miraculously improved (typical caveat that this is contingent on there being a future)
as class consciousness continues to grow, remember to spare a thought for the organisers who have been working tirelessly for years who'll be told they're doing a bad job by people who think they know better just cause they recently came to the conclusion that capitalism is bad
@grape_soda@phosphor_glow IRL that artist (Brandon Bird) is a declared master system kid
I think I knew two MSKs growing up in a small town in central CA (I had a MS2 a couple years later, but had had an NES beforehand) ToysRUs stocked/displayed them well into the genesis era so someone was buying them
The wild thing about the whole “we’ll pay you for one day’s work to scan you and use your likeness in anything we want forever” is that they aren’t even offering the same licensing expectation you would give to a font.
