The emotional anchor will feel you up without your permission and wrap it’s arms around you like a child.

And there is the world building which will leave you in awe and mesmerized from one frame to another. Gosh!

If you worked on this project, you should absolutely be damn proud. You made a film that will make Nollywood proud for years to come.

To #TheBlackBook crew, thank you for walking with me.

A few days to rolling cameras, I got heartbreaking news. The line producer who had been working with me for 6 months during pre-production had flown abroad for a personal improvement programme and would not be on set.

My head spun. This was soul shattering news because it meant neither our producer nor line producer would be there on set during production. When our producer had to go abroad, it was ok, because the line producer would be there to do day-to-day running. Now, I had neither!

The scramble to get a replacement was a little too late. We decided I was going to produce on set, helped by our team of HODs. Coming out of COVID, my health was far from acceptable, this was the last thing I wanted. I tried to surround myself with top professionals so I wouldn’t have to do anything outside directing this mammoth film, but there I was, director, producer, writer, executive producer, and this thing nearly broke me.

We were already behind schedule by the time Covid hit our set, then we had to stop work for nearly two weeks. The chances that we would finish within 8 weeks became zero.
