Trauma survivors rarely say, “I need help.”
They say:
“I’ll figure it out.”
“It’s fine.”
“I’ve handled worse.”
They become their own safety net.
Because life taught them that depending on others isn’t safe.
Suicidal ideation, for many, isn’t about death.
It’s about relief.
From shame.
From feeling overwhelmed constantly. From feeling like a fucking burden.
The goal isn’t always “not wanting to be alive”
It’s just not wanting to live like this.
Does anyone else with ADHD treat a 3:00 PM appointment like a whole-day hostage situation? You wake up at 8:00 AM, but you can’t clean, cook, or relax because your brain locked you in "Waiting Mode" until the clock strikes 3.
Neurotypicals: I love Saturdays, so much freedom.
ADHDers: I have 14 hours of unstructured time. By 11am I have done 0 of the 6 things I meant to. By 3pm I have done 1. By 7pm I am grieving the day.
