Todo lo contrario. Tú te pones a leer un texto entero en hiragana y se te cae el alma a los pies. Los kanjis (una vez los conoces) agilizan y facilitan la lectura sobremanera. Es el coreano el que tendría que reintroducir los carácteres chino, no el japonés librarse de ellos

My childhood friend is a Japanese-to-English translator, who's worked in and out of Japan for 50 years and has many stories. He told me about a civil court case in Seattle, in which the attorney asked him how to pronounce a certain Japanese person's name. My friend said, "I don't know." The attorney began to mock his translation skills, and my friend explained that for much of Kanji, you CANNOT know the pronunciation till you hear it spoken.

Oddly enough, the best writing system in the world is just across the sea, in Korea.

In the GIF below, I am showing a short moment in the movie Spirited Away, in which the witch magically removes the second syllable in Chihiro's name. This changes Chihiro's name to "Sen" which of course makes absolutely no sense in any language but Japanese. And frankly, it's insane in Japanese too.

There is no real indigenous East Asian word for "Asia" btw. The word "Asia" derives from a province of the Roman Empire which is now in Turkey. I suspect the only truly local words you can use are "The Confucian World" or "The Sinosphere."
