The law is clear on this. Congress specifically included earthquakes as grounds for Temporary Protected Status because lawmakers understood that some disasters make it impossible for people to return home safely.

Venezuela is living that reality right now.

The Administration should do the right thing and redesignate TPS for Venezuelans already in the United States. Sending hundreds of thousands of them back to a country devastated by a catastrophic earthquake, on top of years of political repression, economic collapse, and humanitarian crisis is simply not an option.
