Match cuts might be the single most useful transition to
actually get good at.
Not because they're flashy, because they're not. Done
right, nobody notices there was a cut at all.
Here's the one test I use to know if one will actually
work π§΅
The test: freeze the last frame of your outgoing clip
and the first frame of your incoming clip.
Side by side: If the shapes and weight roughly line up even frozen, the cut will read as seamless once it's moving.
