Advocate Vrinda Grover informs, "The honourable Supreme Court of India has today passed a very significant order. As we know that from 20th to 25th July, there were very active protests in Delhi, at Jantar Mantar and in many parts of the country relating to reform in education. During the protests, police across states have launched cases, criminal cases against the protesters, against the youth. There is now an assurance that was given on 25th July by the Union government to the Cockroach Janta Party representatives that they will not pursue any of the criminal proceedings and they will give compensation. In so far as the innumerable FIRs launched across states, from Bihar to West Bengal, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, of course. All those FIRs today, by the order of the honourable Supreme Court, and with the applications were moved by the states. So the states and the Union government have said that they will not pursue, they are to be quashed and the court has passed an order quashing the FIRs, all the FIRs. The Supreme Court has invoked its extraordinary jurisdiction under Article 142 of the Constitution of India because the court says the right to protest, the freedom to protest and express yourself is a fundamental right and that cannot be taken away. What is also significant is that with regards to the compensation they have agreed that it will be formulated and paid in the next three months..."

But here is a case of FIR- HAPPY police station. This is the Kralpora police station in Kupwara.

One minor incident of scuffles between two groups in a disagreement over a pathway took place on 27/08/2026 at 5.30 pm.

The police has so far filed 3 FIRs under numbers 63/26, 64/26, 65/26. Two FIRs were filed by each party. The third was filed yet again. Nobody knows why.

The FIR has the name of a person who is a minor aged 15 years. This is in clear violation JJ act. The minor is terrified. I can’t name the minor. As law does not allow the identification of the minor.

Please @sujitpchauhan Could you please intervene. And this flurry of FIRs. I assure you. It is not without motivation.
