Christian towns around Bethlehem are surrounded on all sides by settlers who steal their water and attack their families. They cannot freely move across their land and are blocked from going to holy sites in Jerusalem.
Listen to the mayors of these towns share their stories.
We had the honor of hearing from Dr. John Esposito just over a week ago on Islam and the West. My condolences to his family and loved ones and everyone who benefited from his tireless scholarship. May we learn from his legacy and carry it forward.
A great scholar and mentor, John Esposito (1940-2026), has returned to the Creator. It’s just starting to hit me now how big a void he leaves in so many lives.
There is so much to say about John, not least of which is that I owe him so much of my career. But here I’ll say that he was a great American, in the best sense of the word. His commitment to freedom of religion and free speech was instinctual and abiding. He never wavered from advocating for people being able to live their religion in public life or against the state imposing itself on people’s private moral lives. Bigotry and ignorance of the other were demons he loathed at his core. So far, so easy. But he was a rarity in that he - again, instinctively - knew it was wrong to condemn others just because the mob was shouting for it, and he stood heroically by those people the state sought to crush in its terrifying gears of accusation and toxification. I have so many memories of him, and he’d tell (and retell) so many stories, but one always comes to mind. In 2010 I was getting married to my wife and moving to Georgetown U to become his colleague. I told him on the phone how some people had warned me about marrying my wife because of how badly the government and media had attacked her family. They warned me it would harm my career. He told me that kind of comment was “unAmerican.”
May God grant his soul mercy and bestow ease on his family. May God guide us to impact the world as positively as he did.
AIPAC money is a defining issue for Democrats because it is a clear example of how politicians are bought and sold by corporations and Israel. @ericswalwell is a corporate Democrat that votes in Congress to help his big dollar contributors. We can do better. #genocidemoney
A member of an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League — designated by the FBI as a "known violent extremist organization" — was allegedly building explosive devices to target the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence. The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack.
This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates.
I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers.
Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe.
Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.
While detained, the Zionists repeatedly told him his entire family had been slaughtered, a cruel tactic intended to shatter him.
Yet today, as he climbed the stairs to his home, his wife ran into his embrace. He was surrounded by his children and parents, all alive and waiting.
.@ZohranKMamdani in his own words 36 hours after the launch of the Hamas slaughter and rape of Israelis including 43 Americans killed and 12 hostages taken.
Is this who we want to be our mayor?
This is why voters don't trust Democrats in Congress! Husband+wife Matsuis representing Sacramento for 40+ years and now husband+wife Beras trying to fill two Congressional seats at the same damn time.🤬 We need real change, not endless smoke and mirrors that keep failing us.🤬
Islamophobia strikes again.
Why is Charlie worried about 1% of the population taking over?
We already have the name California coming from ‘Caliph’ in the books. No one’s stressing over street names
Two Muslims in Michigan discuss their plans for a development of several hundred houses, with plans to keep non-Muslims out by routing almost all HOA fees to a mosque. They talk about naming streets after famous Islamic conquerors. The even discuss the name "Andalusia" — a reference to Al-Andalus, the name for Spain when it was ruled by Muslims a thousand years ago.
Make no mistake, there are still many Muslims who see the West as ripe for conquest — and they are gleefully working to make that happen.
Jewish students are chained to Columbia University gates demanding the name of the trustee that reported Mahmoud Khalil to ICE. Dozens of NYPD officers are here.
.@Columbia University graduate Mahmoud Khalil is a lawful permanent resident of our nation who has not been charged with or convicted of a single crime. The Department of Homeland Security's lawless decision to arrest him solely because of his peaceful anti-genocide activism represents a blatant attack on the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech, immigration laws, and the very humanity of Palestinians. We and other civil rights groups are in communication with Mahmoud's legal counsel. This fight is just starting.
