I quit my job 1.5 years ago. My startup just hit $3M a year.
Now I make 30x what my old job at BCG used to pay me.
I was 20 when I started that job. I had finished college early. I took the job because it paid the most and looked the best.
I worked there for 2 years. Most weeks I worked more than 80 hours. But I liked it. I got to sit with the bosses of huge companies. I knew those skills would help me later.
So I made a rule: 2 years, then leave. Long enough to learn a lot. Short enough that I wouldn't get comfy and stay just for the money.
After exactly 2 years, I left. I was scared. But I believed I could build something big.
My dream was always simple. Travel, and work on something cool. One day I want to see every country in the world. Now I’ve seen 42%.
I had already tried a few ideas. One of them, Triips, started to work. So my cofounder and I went all in.
Getting Triips to $3M is the hardest thing I've ever done. We did it with no outside money. People offered us cash to grow faster. We said no. It just wasn't us.
If you're reading this and wondering if you can do it too, you can. I promise. Trust yourself. Go all in. You won't regret it.
HI Daniel. Very cool for Fincomlab. For Triips, I used to do all the marketing myself, and spent 99% of my days going to airports, filming content, and posting it. It was tough. Once we grey our main instagram enough, we used that reach to hire tons of affiliates through our story, who then went ahead and did what I used to do, but at a 100x scale.
