@ArthurCDent @DukeZer0 Terrible example - Scotland was effectively annexed, and is treated as a region of England. Scotland's parliament is a subordinate branch of Westminster (and can be disolved by WM). Scotland's oil revenues go directly to London.
Scotland isn't allowed to run its own broadcasting.

The Treaty of Union was never enacted - no new "British State" was ever created.
England simply annexed Scotland (and later Ireland), and continued the English State - rebranded as "Britain/UK".

@Mawface1 @thomsonchris Most of my 60yr life's been spent under England's rightwing Tory party - who Scots haven't elected since 1955; the rest under England's Labour party. Both enforce economic policy designed for London. Scotland remains an underdeveloped country, its oil and now electricity removed.
