@AdamPollock I agree. Though if you asked an average Londoner which period they'd prefer to live in, they'd go for the one with a NHS, education and welfare safety net. That's were the ยฃ goes.
@JohnHCochrane High taxes here in the UK is one thing. The terrible approach to spending it all is the other. NHS spending at record levels but productivity is so poor that we get less return for every additional ยฃ spent.
