@ssskryl@khoomeik Comparing it with dna is disingenuous. DNA just serves a replication function, not a memory storage for our brain. We can probably create more space dense storage than DNA but it’d be unusable/slow for access.
@R3dsh1ft13@0YqaXEbYlcgeLZG@PhysInHistory I mean only theory of everything will have the answer. We are trying to constantly reduce number of independent constants/equations. (Doesnt mean itll be a simple ratio though)
Of course unless anthropic principle is true (very likely)
@dioscuri Morevacs Law (wiki:) “it is comparatively easy to make computers exhibit adult level performance on intelligence tests or playing checkers, and difficult or impossible to give them the skills of a one-year-old when it comes to perception and mobility"
@_p_hacked@Sentdex Wrong! Even if DNA is 0.5GB, we need a compiler (the body itself) to actually manifest it. Give smart aliens the dna code and no matter how smart they are, they can’t reverse engineer. This pushes actual data to trillions of bytes.
@boosted_test @KuittinenPetri@bryan_johnson The ‘why’ was mentioned down the thread itself, or in a video I saw, I don’t remember. It’s not the glass but the lid of the container. So theoretically unpainted metal lid or a wooden cork should be fine.
@Travis476819150@QuanticASI Physical process of a photon interacting with the system for measurement is pretty objective: the observer is just a device that is firing/detecting the photons. So we all are observing same collapse because we are all looking at the data gathered by a single device aka observer
@Travis476819150@QuanticASI Rather than calling it superposition of the all possible states, it is that mathematical object itself given by schrodinger wave equation. And when it interacts with a photon, the wave function changes to some dirac delta function, what we call a collapse!
@NicolasSerna314@davidpattersonx@haider1 In isolation, this ‘thought experiment’ seems plausible, where a virus is barely detectable, very infectious and suddenly deadly after 3 months, but in grand scheme, AI then can equally make viruses detectable, ‘antidotes’ and uploading minds to machines plausible.
@Rem_km @anggasolomon @Matt73459958@SprengelMatt@fermatslibrary Ok I'll try to explain in simple terms. Say you are at center, the forces by all particle cancel each other and this Force at center is zero. The formula u gave apply if you are outside the earth. When inside, the force is proportional to r.
