The @PeterObi who publicly pledged to serve only four years is now telling Nigerians that the first year of that already limited tenure will be spent touring around all 36 states to find out what their problems are.

Think about the absurdity of that for a moment.

You want to be President, yet after years of campaigning, countless interviews, political engagements, policy speeches and public appearances, you still need a nationwide excursion to discover the problems of the country you seek to govern?

The presidency is not an internship programme, It is not a school excursion, It is not a research project for a confused applicant trying to understand the job description after being hired.

Any serious presidential candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of Nigeria's major challenges long before asking citizens to entrust him with power.

In fact, identifying problems is the easiest part of leadership; proposing workable solutions is where competence is tested.

What this proposal advertises is not preparedness but confusion and incompetence. It suggests a man seeking the driver's seat while still asking where the road leads.

And if, after hearing such a staggering confession of unreadiness, you still insist that he is the most qualified person for the office, then the issue is no longer his lack of preparation, his emptiness or lack of functioning brain alone. The issue is that your brain has also been compromised and configured to function illogically and irrationally that you can no longer identify between competency and confusion, between a statesman and a tourist.
