Just a reminder...
God sees you.
He sees that beautiful little child in you and He loves you vastly exceedingly more than you will ever be capable of loving.
He sees your struggles and He has faith in you.
He's watching, waiting, to pick you back up should you fall again.
@trinity_314 I've been told parentheses used improperly as I have, are called "scare quotes". I think that is a passive aggressive ignorant phrase. I am not trying to manipulate or scare anyone. I merely try to be accurate and I don't feel right calling people Christian loosely.
As a "Christian" is your focus on condemning a soul or helping it find Salvation?
In your witness, do you preach that Christ is coming or that antichrist is coming?
Who do YOU witness for?
Who is it you really serve?
Don't you realize that you WILL reap what you have sewn?
@trinity_314 Because once upon a time it meant a follower of Christ. Nowadays that is hardly what it means when most people say it. If I'm talking about people who actually follow Christ and HIS teachings I don't use parentheses. Otherwise I mean those who call themselves Christians.
@laisofealdwine I follow Christ and HIS teachings, so by definition of the word Christian, that's me. As far as who can be saved or what's required, not my place to say. I do believe one should fulfill the definition, at least, if one calls oneself Christian, but the final authority's not mine.
Too many "Christians" spend so much time and effort condemning others for their sins and/or interpretation of scripture, that they have totally forsaken the leading of them to Christ, with his Salvation and instruction.
@laisofealdwine Pointing out that we should be leading people to salvation, instead of condemning them to hell, is not hypocritical. You see my name and assume everything I say is wrong. You have been trying to condemn me since your first comment. I condemned an action not a single soul.
@laisofealdwine Christian means follower of Christ. If your Christianity is not based on Christ and HIS teachings, you can say what you want but you are not a Christian. You're a Mosesian, Paulian, Popian, Muslim or some other garbage, but not Christian.
@laisofealdwine Neato, you taught me something! I love learning new things. However to reply to the point of your original comment, I wasn't condemning anyone, I was admonishing all those who let their own condemnation overrule the free gift of forgiveness offered to every sinner found in Christ
@VicParsons__ Sorry, but your comment seems to me to be entirely out of context with the post you are commenting on. Maybe you made a mistake, maybe I misunderstood your meaning. Please do clarify.
@CSavedByGrace18 Did I say anything about offending me? I said that too many lose sight of the goal. We are commissioned for the purpose of saving souls, not condemning them. Gathering people to God is the mission, not scattering them away from Him.
@ibelievetrinity@AbaddonSpeaks Darkness disguises itself as light and would deceive even the elect, if possible. If one refuses to even check themselves to see if they are deceived by darkness, then you can be pretty sure they have no light within them.
If you don't question what you yourself believe and teach, you are unworthy of teaching others.
If you can't entertain the possibility that you can be wrong in your understanding, then you are already too far gone to be of value to anyone.
I'm pretty fed up with all of the self appointed "authorities" on scripture and God, that vehemently argue against Christ's own words. When your own understanding that you lean upon falls out from under you, who will you beg to save you?
@ibelievetrinity@AbaddonSpeaks On one side, we shouldn't pull the weeds lest we uproot also the crop. On the other we shouldn't allow a wolf to remain amongst the flock. It's not advisable to throw your pearls before swine and the same time we must ask ourselves if that light within us is actually darkness.
