No, screening does not cause cancer. It is one of the most important ways to reduce cancer mortality. Screening is a means of detecting abnormal cells (which may eventually become cancerous), with the aim to identify these cells while they are easier to treat.
Cancer stigmatisation goes beyond the assumption that cancer is a death sentence. This video explains what we can do to help change this.
