His mom says her son used to love school—now every morning he's afraid to go.

Imani Karin Davis pleaded guilty to assault charges—and was sentenced to five months of community service.
His mother says that's not enough.
Shanice Griggs has now filed a lawsuit aiming to hold the school system accountable.
She is seeking over $500,000 in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages.
"We do not believe this was the first time this occurred."
Incident occurred at J.C. Nalle Elementary School in Southeast Washington, D.C.
