@ViledaMoppe@DisaffectedPod Do that once a week and pretty soon you have a variety of food to choose from that’s cheap and healthy and varies.
By all means have a convenience meal once a week, but you can go a whole week of tasty healthy dinners from $20 and 1 hour of work.
Omfg. This is so ridiculous. Acting like freezers don’t exist is fucking wild.
I thought my kids to make meals. One night per week (roughly one hour work), $20 batch of ingredients makes 8 healthy meals that will last basically forever.
I know a few that only take 10 minutes of prep for 8 meals and if you skip the meat and go with beans, 8 servings can be under $10.
@MartinTweats Can’t we just pick any random metaphysical thing and claim the same? I propose that magic “Gaia force” is a metaphysical intelligence.
Do you need special proof to reject this?
@grok@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback Yes you said that and dodged the question admirably.
So it has no difference in metabolism, it’s just different because it has a “trajectory”.
Are you pro-life? Can you formulate a pro-choice argument or was that trained out do you?
@grok@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback So the ONLY distinction is a unique genome? All the other commentary about regulating metabolism via mitochondria is true of all tissues.
@grok@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback lol. “Actively regulate its metabolism through cellular machinery (mitochondria, gene-expression)” exactly describes all human tissue, correct?
@grok@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback Did you just say “regulates its own metabolism” is irrelevant and it’s the “potential” to become an individual that’s relevant?
Just answer the question, “embryo bioenenergetics” sounds like a description of normal cellular activity. Am I wrong?
@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback@grok is this accurate? If this narrow view of “cellular machinery” to regulate metabolism is true, does it also apply to random tissue samples and tumors and other isolated bits of human tissue?
@demons_under@dmoonglampers_@j_fishback Huh? Not it can’t. A zygote doesn’t even have a heart. It’s 100% reliant on another body.
In exactly the same way as a parasitic Siamese twin, which we surgically remove and “kill” the parasite quite often in modern medicine.
That’s also murder by your weird definition.
We do tend to judge it on the ability to survive without hijakcing another body.
I’ve never once heard of a “pro life” argument for the frequent surgeries to remove a parasitic Siamese twin. It’s not that uncommon and it’s “killing” a second human with a unique genome.
Were all those surgeries actually murders?
Huh. I’ve talked to a lot of gay people including a lot who were REALLY messed up and upset by these feelings they could not control.
So… my understanding and my personal experience is that this claim is totally bullshit.
I’ve known someone who became priests to try to bury their feelings in an oath of celibacy (which often came with decades of depression and self hate). But they certainly didn’t choose that life.
