Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
In English, Israel calls double-tapping a hospital a "mistake"
In Hebrew, Israel brags about bombing Nasir hospital twice & murdering 4 journalists there, calling them all "terrorists"
They first bombed the hospital, waited for journalists to rush to the scene & bombed them!
❗️BREAKING❗️Rescuers killed in line of duty.
Scenes like this unfold every moment in Gaza, often unseen, largely undocumented. I beg STATES: how much more must be witnessed before you act to stop this carnage?
🔴Break the blockade
🔴Impose an Arms Embargo
🔴Impose Sanctions.
Once you see the sheer scale of the genocide and horrific destruction you understand why news networks like the CBC were pressured into not airing their own footage
How are synagogues in New York allowed to fundraise money for thermal imaging drones for settler militias in the West Bank?
Genuinely how the hell is this legal?
From #Gaza, the cries of parents rise to heaven ever more intensely as they clutch the lifeless bodies of their children, searching for food and shelter from bombs. I renew my appeal to leaders: cease fire, release all hostages, and fully respect international humanitarian law!

These images from Gaza today are beyond the most apocalyptic of imaginations. There are no buildings standing but the rubble keeps being bombed because among the rubble human beings are still moving and falling, with nowhere to go
“37 American states, mostly red states, but not all, it is a requirement if you want a contract with the state, that you have to sign a loyalty oath saying you do not support and & never participated in a boycott of Israel.”
—American journalist Glenn Greenwald
We can never stop talking about this - ever - and never stop seeking justice and standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people - and with those of every people who want peace and justice -
Jesus Christ, where is the world? Imagine watching the Nazis exterminate people in the Warsaw ghetto in real time, except now the world watches it live-streamed, in the palms of our hands, while our leaders do nothing…in fact many of them enable it. The world is broken.
Since Oct. 6th, 2023, Israel has killed anywhere from ~74,000 Palestinians to many hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza. Even if one assumes the highest estimates of Palestinian militants killed -- 15,000 -- and the lowest estimates of Palestinian civilians killed -- 74,000), that would mean Israel has killed roughly 5 Palestinian civilians for every militant it's killed. The more plausible ratio is that Israel has killed 10-25X Palestinian civilians for every militant it's killed.
Since Oct. 6th, 2023, Hamas & other Palestinian militants group have killed a roughly equal number of Israeli soldiers & civilians (~800 civilians, ~800 soldiers, although many dozens if not many hundreds of those killed on Oct. 7th were killed by Israeli forces, rather than Palestinian militants, when it invoked the Hannibal directive, preferring dead Israelis to live Israeli captives).
If you believe all civilian life is equal, and if you believe that killing an innocent civilian is evil, than it follows that Israel is somewhere between 5X and 25X as evil Hamas, looking just at casualty counts alone, leaving aside: the starvation, the dehydration, forced displacement, the diseases, the suffering of the wounded who cannot receive care, and so on and so forth. Also leaving aside the broader context of 17 years of brutal siege, 5 wars waged on Gaza over the past 17 years, 57-years of belligerent military occupation and 77 years of forced displacement; leaving aside Israel's brutal apartheid rule in the West Bank and it's systematic discrimination against Palestinians in Israel and its wars of conquest in Syria and Lebanon in which it also slaughtered thousands more civilians.
All of this is to say, calling yourself "pro-Israel" is signaling to the world you are orders of magnitude more evil than calling yourself "pro-Hamas."
Thus, we live in a world where virtually all of our elected represents, business leaders and media elites in the US think black is white and white is black.
This makes me very very very very pessimistic about the future. If black is white and white is black, then nothing is sacred, and we can expect the state of union to deteriorate to such a point in the coming years that none of us will be protected. Many dark days await us.
Kennedy was also in conflict with the State of Israel.
Israel sought to develop nuclear weapons, but Kennedy opposed the idea.
After JFK’s assassination, President Lyndon Baines Johnson approved Israel’s pursuit of the nuclear bomb.
Another factor in all of this.
