VIDEO | Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Five baby orangutans rescued from the Balasore forest have been brought to the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar. The young primates arrived at the zoo earlier today and were immediately taken in by wildlife officials. Given their tender age, the infants will be hand-reared at the zoo's Centre for Rearing Animal Babies, a specialized facility equipped to care for orphaned and rescued young animals.

Picture this: College management tasks teachers with organizing a cultural event honoring Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The teachers, in turn, tasked the students. Students came up with the idea to dance to "Ooh La La, Ooh La La, Tu Hai Meri Fantasy," and the teachers didn't feel the song was inappropriate for the occasion, so they approved it. I'm sure the teachers got program approval from the management as well and they too didn't find this odd.

There must have been days of rehearsals, yet no one from the students to the teachers to the management thought it was absurd.

Never underestimate a life jacket.

Jabalpur, India. The Narmada river in full flood after the Bargi gates opened. A Home Guard patrol boat ~ packed tighter than it should have been ~ hits debris. Engine dies. Current takes over. In seconds the boat is going under.

Look at the clip. Orange jackets already on. Nobody scrambling in the water for a locker. That is why this did not become another tragedy.

Some swam. Local boatmen pulled the rest. Every person came out alive.

April’s Bargi cruise taught the opposite lesson ~ jackets handed out too late, lives lost.

This video is the other side of the same river: wear it before you step on the boat, not after the water comes in.

On any river, any lake, any dam — jacket first. Always.

#Watch | A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver bid an emotional farewell to his bus after completing his final trip ahead of retirement. Paul Kurian, a driver attached to the KSRTC Kumily depot in Idukki, completed his last duty on September 2. After parking the bus at the end of his shift, he kissed the steering wheel and saluted the vehicle before walking away. The video, shared by KSRTC officials, has drawn widespread attention, with many appreciating his dedication to the profession.

I did a double take when I saw this…

Jump rope may not be among the most prestigious or widely followed sports.

But it demands extraordinary fitness, agility, coordination and reflexes & perhaps says something about a country’s broader sporting culture.

Like me, I suspect many of us have grown accustomed to seeing clips of athletes from other countries, notably the West, but increasingly China too, displaying astonishing skill and dexterity.

I confess I hadn’t expected any clip on the subject to feature an Indian team.

And then I discovered that, late last month in China, our team won gold in an event at a global competition.

Displaying not just athleticism, but creativity, bringing a uniquely Indian flavour to the sport…

Bravo!

@mktyaggi यह अस्पताल दिल्ली सरकार के आधीन है, लेकिन इस अस्पताल में ६०% मरीज दिल्ली से बाहर से आते हैं, क्योंकि वहां की सरकारों ने अच्छी स्वास्थ्य व्यवस्था विकसित नहीं की, सबसे ज्यादा उत्तर प्रदेश से आते हैं, फिर बिहार से।
