Oh my gosh this story is crazy! Stay with me here 🤧:

So Chelsea Perkins accused this man (Matthew Dunmire) of r*pe in 2017 but police didn’t have enough evidence to bring charges. She marries, goes on to be an OF sex worker under the name Selena Savage, but just can’t move on from what happened. So she finds her accused rapist online years later in 2021 with a plan of her own. Even though he has a girlfriend now, he accepts Chelsea’s online request to go out and then meet up at a hotel. From the sounds of it, he doesn’t even seem to recognize or remember her as a girl who accused him. He texts his gf some made up excuse about where he’ll be that night and then spends the night at a hotel with this woman he met online. The next morning, Chelsea then somehow convinces Matthew to go out deep into the forest with her (neither are dressed to hike), where she then sho*ots him in the back of the head.

Chelsea then gets lost in the forest and runs into hikers who give her directions back to her car, but they remember her because was dressed in thigh-high boots as if going out to party, not to hike. They also note she had no emotion and seemed confused. Police find Matthew’s body 3 days later, but it takes them 9 months to piece together that it was Chelsea.

BUT IN THE MEANTIME — Matthew Dunmire’s MOTHER can’t deal with the death of her son and becomes obsessed with solving the crime herself since it’s taking police so long. She starts doing her own rogue vigilante investigation, but starts to focus in on the WRONG woman who she is convinced is responsible for her son’s demise. She finds this woman, chases her down and SHOOTS her (the lady survived her injuries), and when police chase the mom’s car down after the shooting, mom then k*lls herself in the car before they can arrest her. Dunmire’s father helped mom drive to the scene of the shooting so he is arrested and sentenced to like 4 years in prison.

Meanwhile, police finally figure it all out and Chelsea is finally arrested, but claims she’s innocent and has no clue what they’re talking about. Years go by and Chelsea prepares to fight this at trial, insisting she’s not involved. Just days before the m*rder trial is set to begin with her life on the line if she loses at trial — Chelsea finally gives in at the last minute and admits guilt to the court. Now we’re back in present day, her sentencing is now coming up soon where she’ll discover her fate.
