🚨 UPDATE: Remember the South Carolina caregiver accused of taking a vulnerable veteran’s home for just $5... that I posted about last week? She’s now been ARRESTED. 👏

75-year-old Robert “Bob” Rowland suffered from Parkinson’s disease and a brain injury when caregiver Sarah Smalls entered his life.

Authorities allege Smalls obtained power of attorney, moved Bob into a senior facility, and transferred his Conway home to herself with a quitclaim deed listing the price as $5 — notarized by her own sister.

Investigators also accuse her of taking more than $17,000 from Bob’s accounts, including transactions after his death.

But the part of this story that still blows my mind:

Bob’s daughter Nora drove down from Maryland after becoming concerned that she couldn’t reach her father. She found the locks changed and a Ring camera on the house.

She pressed the doorbell — and Smalls allegedly told her through the camera that her father was dead and she owned his house.

Nora climbed through a window trying to get into her father’s home.

SHE was arrested for burglary.

Now the investigation has turned in a very different direction.

Conway Police have arrested Smalls on charges including exploitation of a vulnerable adult, breach of trust and perjury.

What started as a daughter desperately trying to find out what happened to her father has now become a criminal case against the woman entrusted to help care for him.

Protect your elderly and vulnerable loved ones. Watch the finances. Watch the paperwork. And pay attention when someone suddenly starts controlling access to them.

REVEALED: A think tank co-founded by Facebook’s founding president wants an entirely NEW visa category to repopulate struggling American communities with foreign workers.

It’s called the HEARTLAND VISA.

They’ve already mapped roughly 1,700 potentially eligible counties—home to 58 MILLION Americans.

The Economic Innovation Group, co-founded by Sean Parker, wants at least 100,000 visas a year.

The pitch is explicit:

“In exchange for living in a Heartland Visa community, workers with sufficient earnings will gain permanent residency”

American communities become the destination. Green cards become the incentive.

The proposal targets places struggling with population decline, including rural communities and former industrial centers.

Foreign workers would have to live in a participating area—but could work for an employer located elsewhere.

The think tank also proposes replacing labor certification with an earnings test for the green-card pathway. That would remove the usual labor-market test from this proposed route to permanent residency.

The idea has already reached Capitol Hill.

Republican Senator Todd Young and then-Senator Joe Manchin introduced a version in December 2024. Supporters included AOL co-founder Steve Case, Americans for Prosperity and the Niskanen Center.

County officials would decide whether their communities participate.

EIG continued lobbying for the proposal in 2026.

This is an organized push to turn population decline into a justification for a new immigration program.

This happened in Conway, South Carolina, and it will make your blood boil.

Her name is Nora Rowland.

His name was Robert Rowland. His friends called him Bob. He was 75, living in Conway, with Parkinson's and a brain injury. Classified by the state as a vulnerable adult.

His daughter Nora is a daddy's girl. They FaceTimed every week.

In March 2024, a caregiver named Sarah Smalls started coming to the house through Griswold Home Care.

Within WEEKS, Bob was moved into a senior living facility.

By April, Smalls had power of attorney.

On April 17th, a quitclaim deed transferred Bob's home to Smalls.

...for FIVE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!

The notary on the deed? Her SISTER.

Then, police say, she started draining his accounts.

More than $17,000 in cash withdrawals. Transfers to her Cash App.

Money kept moving even after he was NO LONGER LIVING!!!!!!!

In May, she allegedly lied on federal housing forms, swearing she had no assets, no real estate, no cash... while sitting on a FREE HOUSE!!!!!!

Nora stopped hearing from her dad.

Father's Day came and went. Silence.

So she got in the car and drove from Maryland.

New locks on the front door. A Ring camera that hadn't been there before.

She pressed the button. Smalls answered through the speaker.

"This isn't the way that I wanted to tell you, but your dad is de*d, and there's a bunch of other stuff I have to tell you too. Just wait there."

Nora climbed through the emergency window.

Her dad's house was gone.

Photos of strangers on the walls. Rooms painted highlighter orange. A whole new family moved in.

Then Smalls came home and called the police.

...on the daughter.

"They put me and my partner in handcuffs immediately," Nora said. "I just kept saying, 'I don't know what's going on; this is my dad's house. My dad is dead.'"

Conway police charged her with second-degree burglary. For entering her FATHER'S HOME!!!!!!

A neighbor told them on bodycam he'd been worried for weeks. Furniture moving out. Bob disappearing. "You could've talked him into just about anything." He said he'd even called senior services.

Nobody listened.

AND IT GETS WORSE.

It took TWO YEARS before anyone was charged.

Monday, Conway police finally arrested Smalls.

Breach of trust.
Perjury.
Exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Tuesday, a judge set bond: $20,000, $20,000, and $5,000.

She posted it and walked out that afternoon

Her first court date is December 11th.
She's home free until then.

Nora is STILL in civil court fighting to get her father's house back.

The deed is still in the caretakers name...

Yolanda is gone. The debt and the lawfare are still here.

I’m trying to learn how to wake up without my wife while fighting to keep the home where we raised our daughters.

They have already taken our beach house, seized our bank accounts, repossessed our vehicles, RV, boat, and WaveRunners. We lost our storage units, jewelry, collectibles, and artwork—pieces of a life we spent decades building together.

And now they are trying to take our family home.

The home our daughters grew up in. The home where I cared for my sweet Yolanda through cancer treatment, after her 10-hour double surgery at City of Hope, and through the recovery from a half-dozen additional emergency surgeries over the years.

Under this roof, I helped her through days when she could barely move. I held her. I prayed with her. I would have cared for her for another fifty years if we had been given them.

Now I walk through these rooms aching for her, and I have to face the possibility of losing them, too.

I know a house cannot bring Yolanda back. But every room holds something of our life together. Losing it while I’m still struggling to accept that she is gone is more than I know how to carry.

It hurts to ask for help again. It hurts worse to stay silent while what remains of our family’s life is threatened.

They don’t even have to have gone to an American medical school. States are bending over backwards to accommodate foreign physicians who went to schools that are literally fake diploma mills, and that’s a generous characterization.
