I don’t think I ever mentioned it, but obviously, this entire story is writing from Caitlyn’s POV.

The final scene is essentially:
Violet reading her wife’s memoirs. An old, slightly worn book filled with writings, quotes, moments, and photographs from their life together.

That’s why the story reads as if Cait is speaking directly to Vi, sharing her feelings and memories. And in most of the photos, you can see the way she looks at Vi with pure adoration 🥰 📓✏️

— What does Sempiternus mean?

It’s a word of Latin origin, derived from semper (“always”) and aeternus (“eternal”). It literally means “eternally eternal” or “always eternal.” It’s used in poetic, philosophical, or literary contexts to express something that transcends time — something that lasts forever.

"That which will last forever; which, having had a beginning, will have no end."

That’s why I chose it as the title for this story. Because, from what I’ve seen, their love endures in every universe where they exist ♾️
