⭕️ Israeli reservist tells Der Spiegel his unit killed Palestinians who approached hidden positions, then logged them as terrorists
The soldier, who spent about 250 days in Gaza, described a procedure his unit often used called “Alman Kasch,” in which troops take up concealed positions in areas that have not been evacuated and open fire on anyone who comes near.
“If Palestinians, who do not know that our soldiers are there, approach, they are shelled. Usually other people come along who want to help, they are also shot at. Within a few minutes, five, six or seven people are killed. The protocol says: seven terrorists eliminated. But no, it’s just seven people who crossed an intersection. Important: We do not kill, we eliminate. That’s how we’ve always phrased it.”
He said his brigade killed 160 to 170 people during more than 80 days in the Netzarim corridor, where “there were no fighting, no attacks by Hamas.”
“Only one man was suspected to carry a gun. No one saw the gun, it was night, and he had something with him that could have been interpreted as a weapon. He was killed about 500 meters north of the corridor, so he was not a direct danger, and we never examined his body. But not only him, but all these dead were reported as terrorists.”
The soldier is one of ten who gave testimony to Der Spiegel.
Statement from Bishop Dr. Imad Haddad on the Attack on Starmountain (Sternberg) Support Center by Israeli Settlers
This week we as a church were very disturbed to hear about Israeli settlers trespassing and damaging agricultural facilities at the Starmountain (Sternberg) Support Center for people with disabilities near Ramallah.
The Starmountain Center is operated by our partners from the Moravian Church and serves approximately 100 children and youth with intellectual disabilities. Last Friday, the 9th of October, a large group of Jewish Israeli settlers broke into the facility, damaging the property’s fence. On Monday the 11th, the farmer at the center noticed significant destruction in the greenhouse, including slashed tarpaulins, uprooted plants, and destroyed irrigation pipelines, suggesting the group broke in on Sunday as well and caused additional damage.
The severity and urgency of this situation cannot be overstated. This is illegal violent trespassing and destruction of property that could escalate even further at any time. The current physical damage caused to the facility is compounded by the intense psychological damage to those who attend and work in the center. As the Moravian Church shared in their statement, if Starmountain is no longer seen as a safe place for people with disabilities, this important work will not be able to continue.
This attack on Starmountain Center is part of an extremely concerning pattern of Israeli settler violence in the areas around Ramallah. Palestinian homes, agricultural lands and institutions are all under threat of violence, putting numerous lives at risk. No Palestinians in the West Bank are exempt from this threat, including Christian communities and institutions. As Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, I call for immediate and decisive action from international governments and faith leaders to take action to support Starmountain Center and to protect the rights of Palestinians to live in peace and safety.
I’m truly devastated by this story. How is this not making headlines today?
Four-year-old Osama Ahmed Abed died from injuries he sustained on August 23, 2026, when Israel struck the town of al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip.
I just watched an interview with his aunt, recorded a week ago. She said Osama’s father had been killed in an Israeli strike a year earlier. She was still hoping someone could save Osama’s life after a piece of shrapnel pierced his head.
I cannot fathom this. Osama was barely one year old when Israel began its genocide in Gaza in 2023. He never got to experience a single beautiful day in his short life.
And the media cannot even bring itself to say his name or show his face. It didn’t even report on him when he was injured.
I took screenshots to show his face before he was injured.
Israelis filming their abuse of Palestinian hostages for the pleasure and entertainment of their sick psychopathic society in advance of their elections.
Here is the thing about solidarity across sectarian lines that makes empires nervous:
It means people have figured out who the real line is between.
Not Sunni and Shia.
Not Arab and Persian.
Not the boundary drawn by a religious dispute in the 7th century.
The real line is between the people whose children are in the rubble and the people whose signatures are on the arms export licenses.
The real line is between the people asking why and the people profiting from the confusion.
The moment a Shia poor person and a Sunni poor person look at Gaza and see the same thing, see their people, see themselves, see the logic of what empire does to any population that cannot be made useful and cannot be made compliant...
That moment is precisely what the sectarian investment is designed to prevent.
Not because solidarity is sentimental.
Because solidarity is dangerous.
Specifically dangerous to the architecture of managed division that keeps the weapons contracts running and the normalization agreements signed and the ceasefire vetoed and the rubble unaccounted for.
On the eve of Sunday, April 19, 2018, this photograph was taken of an elderly woman, Umm Ahmed Al-Munai, after Saudi aircraft reduced her home to rubble and killed all six members of her family!
That night, none of those self-proclaimed champions of humanity, whose supposed compassion is tainted by filthy Saudi money, heard of her tragedy. They were too distracted by the deafening music at one of the parties held at Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas!
Therefore, for everyone's safety, the Yemeni army's warnings must be taken seriously in the future. The price is enormous, and the bill is written in the blood of 377,000 civilians. Let the Saudi regime alone bear the cost of settling it.
We uphold the ethics of war. So take these warnings seriously, and do not drag yourselves into a conflict in which we have shed the blood of our children and loved ones!
Today is the first anniversary of the martyrdom of journalist Saleh Al-Jafrawi who has been an inspiration to millions of people around the world.
May Allah place his soul in the highest heavens. ❤️🤲
One of the best documentaries I have watched in my life.
It takes us into the life of the indefatigable @MaramGaza who's been relentlessly reporting from Gaza for 3 years.
Digital correspondents in Gaza are forgotten, marginalised, and barely read or praised & awarded on the global stage.

The Wahhabi tyrants in Riyadh imposed a man-made famine on Yemen from 2015, causing the world's worst humanitarian crisis
85,000 children died due to malnutrition in first 3 years
By 2021, 2.3 million children had been pushed to brink of starvation
Genocidal policy - and one of greatest crimes of 21st century
The Saudi dictators were, of course, backed all the way by their imperial patrons in Washington and London
Why would Netanyahu care for the Saud regime and offer his help?
Trump summed it up perfectly in 2018:
"Israel would be in big trouble without Saudi Arabia."
The resistance axis:
Hizballah and the honorable people of the south
Iran
Ansarallah in Yemen
Besides Malaysia, not a single Sunni country took concrete steps to sanction Israel and to fight Israel. Turkey is supplying fuel for the genocide. The others are outright colluding.
They say Iran is a Shia power pursuing "Shia hegemony."
This is the argument. This is the frame.
This is what the think tanks produce and what the foreign ministers repeat and what the TV channels that are funded by governments that normalize with Israel broadcast every day.
"Iran's support for resistance movements is sectarian."
"It is not about Palestine."
"It is about expanding Shia influence."
"It is about the Safavid project."
"It is about Persian imperialism dressed in the language of resistance."
Hamas is Sunni.
Iran gave Hamas a political office in Tehran in the early 1990s, and supported it with funding, weapons and military training for decades.
Islamic Jihad in Gaza is Sunni.
Iran has been one of its principal financial and military backers.
The Yemeni resistance, Ansar Allah, is not, in its tribal and doctrinal composition, a straightforward Shia movement in any sense that the people deploying this argument actually believe.
The argument is not made in good faith. It has never been made in good faith.
It is produced specifically to give Sunni populations a theological reason to not identify with the only forces actually fighting for a Sunni majority population in Gaza.
It is designed to confuse. To divide. To neutralize solidarity at the moment when solidarity is most needed and most dangerous to the people who need it neutralized.
And some people repeat it. On television. With conviction. Because it is easier than answering the actual question.
The actual question being: seventy-five thousand dead. Who stood with them? Who stood against them?
Answer that. Without the sectarian deflection. Without the think tank framing.
Answer it simply.
And then tell me which side you're on.

The last time I slept in a warm room was three years ago, in my home before it was destroyed and my city Rafah was occupied Now the weather is getting cold, and living inside a tent is truly deadly.
This is what we are living through now...
All we want is for you to pray for us and not stop talking about us, because we have lost hope that this genocide will stop
I have a little brother who is ten years old he always feels severe dizziness, and after taking him to the hospital today, he was diagnosed with malnutrition We noticed this in him after we went through the famine that we are still suffering from to this day.
Today, at sunset, while I was in my tent I heard a strange sound passing above me, but I thought it was birds After a few minutes, I heard people screaming, so I went out into the street and saw people hugging the ground I asked them in shock what was going on, and they told me a quadcopter drone was shooting at us, lie down on the ground so you don't get hit.
We are truly living in hell and are at risk of death at any moment. Please don't stop talking about us.
