Somali media posting more images of this morning's bomb blast scene in Mogadishu.

The bomb targeted at Somali president's convey brought down roadside multi-storey buildings. It was remote controlled. Area is about half a kilometre away from Presidency at Villa Somalia.

Questions would now be asked about how this monumental lapse occurred so close to Villa Somalia.

Why was a clear warning of an impending AS attack on the city from the US Embassy dismissed as 'propaganda'?

As a standard practice, mobile signal jammers are used by VVIP security details when passing through high-risk areas to deter against remote detonation via mobile phones (the typical AS-style RCIED). Was this done? If not, why not?

How is it possible to smuggle or assemble such a large bomb in an area that ought to be under constant surveillance by security services. Shouldn't every inch of 10km radius around the Presidency be thoroughly surveilled, profiled and secured?

If AS can assemble a bomb right under the noses of the Somali security services and plant on roadside so close to Villa Somalia what else can they do? Is there anything they cannot do?
