I will say though, I think I am biased bc usually my favorite bsides tend to be the more ballad-esque songs 😅 or that I'm used to atleast 3-4 tracks being ballads (👀@ early beast and exo and davichi and spica and*giant cane pulls me offstage*)

Also the "ballads are boring" tweet that's going around makes me laugh bc I think ppl's short attention spans + discomfort with strong emotions or earnestness (they "cringe" easily) = them not being able to sit for a song and let themselves be moved/immersed in the emotion.

And I think it shows with songs being shorter + fast. There's less/no ballads in the tracklists for new kpop releases. I remember when EVERYBODY was obsessed with 4men's Baby Baby, Adele's Hello, Exo's Miracle in December, Bol4's To My Youth. Everything changes with time.
