I contributed to the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights’ online consultation on “Addressing Legacy Human Rights Harms,” emphasizing adequately funded remedy plans with clear responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes, including safeguards when businesses close or transfer assets. Drawing on Bangladesh’s context, I also highlighted the need for practical guidance for developing economies across industrial safety, land acquisition, energy, infrastructure, and pollution, recognizing smaller businesses’ capacity constraints while ensuring effective remedies for affected communities.

ক্যান্সারের সঙ্গে প্রাণপণ লড়াই করে ২০২০ সালের ৫ অক্টোবর, সোমবার আম্মা ইহলোক ছেড়ে পরলোকে পাড়ি জমিয়েছেন। আজ আম্মাকে ছাড়া ছয় বছর। সময় চলে যায়, জীবনও এগিয়ে চলে, কিন্তু আম্মার শূন্যতা পূরণ হয় না। কিছু অভাব বোধ হয় সারাজীবন বুকের ভেতর বয়ে বেড়াতে হয়.......

আম্মা, তোমাকে আর একবার “আম্মা” বলে ডেকে সাড়া পাওয়ার আকুলতা আজও একটুও কমেনি। কত কথা বলা হলো না.......

আমার সেই অসহনীয় শোকের সময়ে আমাকে সাহস ও মানসিক দৃঢ়তা জুগিয়ে পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন ড. রেহনুমা আহমেদ, ড. সায়দিয়া গুলরুখ, আমার বন্ধু রেজা (Rezaur Rahman Lenin), আমার বোন ডা. নবনীতা দিদি (Nabanita Chakraborty), মামা ডা. ইমরুল হাসান খান (Emrul Khan Emon), মামী Dr. Naima Ferdoushi, প্রফেসর ডা. তাসমিম ফারহানা দিপ্তা আপু এবং ডা. রায়হান ভাই।

আপনারা পাশে ছিলেন বলেই আমি ও আমার পরিবারের সদস্যরা গভীর শোকের মধ্যেও মনোবল ধরে রাখতে পেরেছিলাম। সেই সময়ের আপনাদের মমতা, সাহস আর সহায়তা কোনোদিন ভুলব না। আপনাদের কাছে আমার এই ঋণ আজীবনের।

আম্মা, তুমি নেই বহুদিন, তবু আমার সমস্ত ভালোবাসায়, সমস্ত না বলা কথায় তুমি আছো।

LEED-Lawyers for Energy, Environment and Development Expands Its European Office Through Partnership with Studio Legale Nomos.
Lawyers for Energy, Environment and Development (LEED) Limited is pleased to announce an agreement with Studio Legale Nomos to expand LEED’s European presence in Italy.

The agreement was signed by LEED’s Chief Executive, Mr. Abdullah Al Noman, and Avv. Iacopa Casini Ropa, representing Studio Legale Nomos. Through this collaboration, we aim to provide corporate legal solutions for Bangladeshi expatriate business owners in Italy and across Europe.
