@BBCPolitics@BBCOne Taxes! Why cut taxes when revenue is needed to invest in public services that everyone can use. Cut taxes, then only those with disposable income can afford the alternative pay to use services. 🙄
125 new willow trees.
The right tree in the right place has value in the eco-system.
A mix of goat and grey willow, planted at a density of 1,600 per hectare.
This piece of land offered poor grazing potential; the former owners had used the area to stack and fetch silage bales in winter, churning the soil; the area tends to be wet, without an obvious drainage solution and loves to grow nettle.
Willow enjoys wet situations so is a good choice for that spot; aside from the wildlife habitat benefits, once grown the trees can be coppiced. One particular benefit being as a medicinal cattle feed.
Just 1 week to go until Webinar 7 where Dr. Rebecca Rowe, (@UKCEH) and Ed Drewitt, naturalist and wildlife detective will take a look at the effect and benefits of biomass crop plantations on biodiversity.

Great to hear from growers profiting from Miscanthus on flood-prone land ⬇
It thrives where other crops fail on fields that would otherwise be unprofitable. Research shows that not only can it grow well in waterlogged areas, it provides soil stability.

@LeeJarvis10 Lee, try running an u16 clwb side who also play school and dewar shield programme this year. 12 fixtures planned, 4 played rest cancelled !lucky ones get plenty of chances to play rugby and others in squad loose out 🙄
Thank you to those who attended our @BiomassConnect Miscanthus demo day last week. Our speakers @agricarbon & @CranfieldUni were awesome and the soil coring and drone demos were a real highlight. All in all a fascinating day about the future of this amazing crop 🌱
