@lacanian_bimbo How did you arrive at this position? I have always believed that assisted dying should be legalised, but I’m kind of expecting that I’d change my mind if I knew more about this.
Some of Ukraine’s 'cheerleaders' in the West developed an exceptional image of Ukrainians due to the enormous efforts of war propaganda. In their imagination, all “true” Ukrainians are “resilient and unbreakable” and would rather die than obey Putin’s will.
They perform their quasi-empathy after every Russia’s missile attack on Ukraine. They publicly mourn its victims, especially children, women, and the elderly. “Ideal” victimhood picture also includes pets on the ruins of their homes.
'Cheerleaders' wait daily for another “bloody reality show” episode that allows them to demonstrate their “dedication” to the Ukrainian cause. “Stand with Ukraine,” “We pray,” reads their status on social media. Their “support” is performed at cozy apartments, conference halls, or bars. In other words, in safety, where they can “fight” bravely with a nuclear superpower that is not their neighbor.
When 'cheerleaders' see Ukrainians who don’t meet their expectations, they are confused, angry and tend to brand them “bad Ukrainians” or pro-Russian "traitors". This approach is another sort of orientalism and colonial gaze, no better than Putin’s that denies agency to Ukrainians.
IMO, once you think of dress as social language, it's very easy to understand everything else, such as how to put together outfits and how trends emerge. 🧵
@xriskology Deleted mu initial comment, because it could be misinterpreted.
It’s tragic, to say the least.
In her specific case, she is the daughter of a former Republican Senator. That might explain why she hits all the (false) MAGA talking points
@bluhue123 The entitlement and narcissism is just off the charts. Off the charts.
Really? Really?! The country is falling of a cliff, as you yourself articulated many times in your campaign, and all you can think of is your political survival?
Off the charts.
