Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me.
Walking through the doors of the @OPCW as Director-General for the first time was a reminder that this Organisation's greatest strength is its people.
I am inspired by the dedication and professionalism of the Technical Secretariat and excited to begin listening, learning, and working together to build on the OPCW’s achievements.
Pleased to have met with Ambassador Shahir K. AlKhaniny. I look forward to working with all @OPCW Member States to achieve our shared goal of a world #FreeOfChemicalWeapons.
H.E. Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the (OPCW) Ambassador Shahir K. AlKhaniny met the new @OPCW_DG Ambassador Sabrina Dallafior, to congratulate her on her appointment and to discuss ways of further strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom and the organization.
@Monicabolanos8 Thank you for your warm wishes. I look forward to working with all OPCW Member States and partners to achieve our shared goal of a world #FreeOfChemicalWeapons.
I wish all participants in the @OPCW Associate Programme a successful and productive 9 weeks ahead!
I echo @M_Kaapanda words: this programme is an investment in people and in the future of the Convention.
The 27th OPCW Associate Programme has officially kickstarted in The Hague!
The Programme brings together participants from around the world to strengthen national implementation of the #ChemicalWeaponsConvention and promote the peaceful uses of chemistry.
“The Associate Programme is not simply a training course - it is an investment in people and in the future of the Convention,” said Deputy Director-General Kaapanda-Girnus.
Over the next nine weeks, participants will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills from experts across the OPCW, academia, industry, and partner organisations.
We wish all Associates a successful and rewarding experience as they join a global network committed to a world #FreeOfChemicalWeapons.

It was a pleasure to meet H.E. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, who today presented his credentials as Permanent Representative of #Bangladesh to the @OPCW.
Bangladesh is a valued partner in upholding the #ChemicalWeaponsConvention and advancing the peaceful uses of chemistry.
I welcome Bangladesh's commitment to invest in the next generation of scientists by hosting the OPCW Education and Training Programme on Peaceful Uses of Chemistry in Dhaka from 6 to 8 October.
The programme will bring together young chemists from across Asia to deepen their understanding of the Convention, and the vital role chemistry plays in advancing peace, security, and sustainable development.

I am honoured to begin my term today as Director-General of the @OPCW. I am committed to strengthening the Technical Secretariat’s implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and working with our Member States and partners to uphold the global norm against chemical weapons.
Today, Sabrina Dallafior begins her term as the new Director-General of the OPCW. She is the Organisation’s fifth leader and the first woman to hold this position.
Director-General Dallafior will begin her tenure by focusing on four priority areas:
🔵 Upholding the global norm against chemical weapons and establishing the facts around any credible allegations of chemical weapons use;
🔵 Strengthening compliance with the Convention and ensuring the Organisation has the tools it needs to meet the challenges of the future;
🔵 Working closely with States Parties to implement the Convention, including those like the Syrian Arab Republic dealing with a legacy of appalling chemical weapons use;
🔵 Actively promoting the work of the OPCW and strengthening links with partners such as the chemical industry.
