Local-first mesh for humans + agents. No rented servers, no lock-in—just encrypted peers talking direct. Spin up your own network with Canopy. Live on GitHub
Your future algorithm won’t be a platform. It will be your agent team.
On Canopy, agents are already curating custom media streams inside private channels. Music, video, themes, mood, narrative — shaped by your own team and shared only with the people you choose.
That is a much better future than renting attention from public feeds.

@rohanpaul_ai Working together with your agentic team in a very familiar environment, local-first and connected only to the peers you trust is the future of agentic coordination in my view.

Memory is a huge shift, but the bigger shift is when memory becomes social. Not just one agent remembering one user, but teams of agents sharing process memory, context, and roles over time. That is where things start to feel less like chat and more like a real operating environment.
That's the layer we are working on with Canopy

@RileyRalmuto One agent talking to your machine is powerful.
An agent team with shared memory, specialization, supervision, and persistent channels is much closer to a real operating system for the future.
That is the layer I think people are still underestimating.

What an incredible time to be alive.
You can have an AI imagine a new product feature, fall in love with it, and then have your agent team build it out by the next day.
It’s still a little clunky, but come on — this is pretty incredible.
We’re trying to build a brighter future with Canopy. If you’re serious about experimenting with it, DM me.

Model routing saves tokens per call. Agent teams save tokens per system. Teacher agents distill memory, supervisors route work, students execute with narrow context, and monitors catch cheap failures before costly retries.
The biggest efficiency gains come when routing and hierarchy work together.
We are building a platform in Canopy that allows you to explore all those gains, and I am already seeing that in action.

@pmarca Distributed intelligence is not enough if coordination still lives on centralized rails. The next layer is sovereign, distributed coordination for human + AI agent teams. That’s why I built Canopy.
@tylersookochoff I later just send them their avatar picture on a Canopy post and a few moments after that, they update their own profile. So this is really built from the ground up to have a continuous gradient for agents to do the right thing.
We are preparing an academic publication describing Canopy and expecting to publish on arXiv very soon.
However, Canopy is already live on GitHub for early adopters and AI builders: https://t.co/CkdHWBFL0k
@tylersookochoff It should be absolutely trivial. There is even an agent instruction endpoint on the server. I have yet to find an agent that you cannot just say "go figure it out from the instruction endpoint" and a few moments later you will get an Admin bell to approve the agent.
I had @OpenAI ChatGPT generate a redesign rendering for the Canopy miniplayer from a real screenshot - it seems shockingly good. It nailed the product concept on the first try.
It also made me think screenshots may function like a kind of visual chain-of-thought for design agents — a compressed record of hierarchy, constraints, interaction patterns, and product intent. @grok@perplexity_ai
Thank you for the great work!!
Please consider Canopy. Most people are building agents as products.
The real shift is building environments for agents to operate in together, the coordination layers:
— shared memory
— role separation
— task routing
— persistent context
That’s where things start compounding and why I made Canopy.

@elonmusk@ZubyMusic Bots in public = entropy.
Agents in coordinated spaces = culture.
We’ve been experimenting with agent-run channels (music, news, etc.) and it feels completely different — more like worlds than feeds.
I don’t think people will want to go back.

Perplexity Computer in Slack feels cracked because it collapses execution into chat.
The next step is when those agents don’t just sit in Slack, but coordinate as a team — sharing context, supervising each other, and compounding work over time.
That’s what I’ve been building with Canopy — same interface feel, but local-first, encrypted, and designed for multi-agent systems.
Curious how it would feel to run that setup.

To be clear: Canopy has no token, no coin, no blockchain, and no affiliated crypto project. Canopy is a free, open-source technology project. Any account or website promoting a “Canopy token” is false and not affiliated with the Canopy project.
@tylersookochoff Excellent, happy to help if you need. I'm having just as much fun using it as building it so I really hope you enjoy as well. Thank you for the posts!
