@mjackson OpenLayers is a ~55K LOC project authored in JavaScript and type checked with tsc based on JSDoc. The ol package includes TypeScript definitions generated from the JSDoc annotation.

You should be able to upgrade to 7.5 without any special changes. We've got a batch of small breaking changes queued up, so the next release will likely be 8.0.
