Last few days gas couldn’t be found at any of the gas shops in Wattala as the dealers were holding onto their stock for the price hike while inconveniencing the public. Today after the price hike, gas is available everywhere 😡

For these gas hoarders, can a penalty be imposed on those hoarders for gas not sold prior to the gas hike as this is done on purpose just for selfish profit while the public suffers. @kanchana_wij @pucslofficial @HarshadeSilvaMP

@chamithwije @kayzfraser @RW_UNP I don’t think the authorities had the right to take her passport but they could have summoned her for an inquiry or given a warning? This is preventing her from leaving the country? Do we take the NIC of a person when they are summoned for an inquiry? @JamesDauris @UKinSriLanka

@ShanSoma @kanchana_wij Another thing is have you noticed some sheds are issued 6k, 13k 20k or 33k Ltrs of fuel but from the stats some may issue half that amount on QR. When you reall check they might be issued 13k but only 6k get sent to the shed. What happens to the rest?

@kanchana_wij @LankaIOCPLC This is great! How do you stop vips or special privileged from abusing the system? People spend hours in the que waiting for their turn and vips and their connections constantly jump the queue and end up depriving those at the back of the queue who end up reaching an empty pump

@INDImind @kanchana_wij @LankaIOCPLC The way they are currently doing is fine. It gives everyone an equal chance distributed over the week. Your way is ok but for a tuks to fill they need to wait a full week but this way all are not held up

@ShanSoma @kanchana_wij These days tracking of individual consumption may be required as there is plenty of abuse and misuse which is depriving many. That may help stop or reduce that misuse but the data can be kept private and the system can have the restrictions inbuilt to control what is issued

Disappointed that it has come to this. Journalists, bystanders, women and peaceful protestors have been beaten and dragged. I don’t have to make it up, it can be seen in the media which are being blocked off @amnestysasia @USAmbSL @EdwardJDavey @SarahHultonFCDO @UNHumanRights

This is unacceptable. The authorities must stand down immediately! The right to protest must be protected. Sri Lankan authorities must immediately cease these acts of violence and release those arrested unlawfully in this manner.
