The UK Defence Secretary has badly miscalculated. Russia is already on a war footing, as developed over the past 4 years and the UK simply does not have enough money to fund a fighting force anything like the forces that would be required to take on Russia.

Russia has said that it has NO interest in invading any part of Europe and its only threats against Europe have been retaliatory.

This war mongering is part of the political drive to impoverish an increasingly desperate populace and an attempt to create popular support for an unnecessary and unjustifiable war.

Unfortunately for the proponents of war the people have woken up to their shenanigans and will neither support a war or put their lives - or the lives of their children - on the line.

Indeed in Germany protesters have been walking around with placards that say, "Russia is not my enemy".

Continued resistance by the people will frustrate their wish to generate a popular war against Russia.

These developments seem far removed from Australia but our deep and longstanding alliance with the UK and US threaten to rope us into unnecessary wars.

Don't be baited into war by the political class.
