FocusVault is out! It's a focus app for macOS that makes distractions lose their color instead of blocking them.

DIY PCB progress:
Flat PCB surface vs raised edge around the PCB traces, both after sanding

Raised edges were WAY faster to sand too!

Still tweaking some parameters, as the sandpaper sometimes catches and rips the copper out from the channels

DIY PCB progress:
Soldering onto cheap copper tape worked great, as easy as one could hope it to be, and no signs of melted plastic (petg). De-solder might be another story tho.
Removing unwanted copper is still a pain, even with coarser sandpaper (p120).

Sanding is still the bottleneck for fast prototyping, so I want to solve that before moving on.

Printing 4 raised-edge variants now to reduce sanding contact area in hope to make it easier to separate the copper tracks with sanding. Testing tomorrow!

DIY PCB experiment: 3D-printed base + copper tape.

Some intial thoughts
• P400 barely removed the excess copper, it was quite annoying. Trying P240 next.
• The cheapest copper tape I could find seems to work just fine.
• Overlapping strips also seem to conduct fine.

@dayumsam Haven't got that far yet. Will be trying that later (:

What is going on, where are the episodes? Has the singularity been cancelled?

We've got moons to disassemble!

Insights shows where your time actually went.

See your app usage over 7 or 14 days, how much of it was focused work, and which sites pulled you away. FocusVault reads your Mac's local Screen Time data, and nothing is uploaded. It's optional, and it stays on your Mac.

How it works:
• Profiles with apps, websites and URL keywords
• Timed sessions run until the timer ends, even if you quit the app
• Manual mode when you need flexibility
• Website rules for Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge and Arc

@thsottiaux If the ship doesn't land in EU, that counts as a reset. Right?

Now I understand what @dhh meant with Omarchy being malleable. Omarchy got me hooked.

It is a glimpsy of a future where AI shapes my computing environment around what I need in the moment.

[Opifex @Opifex__]

Enter FocusVault.

Choose distracting apps and websites, then start a timed session. Only your selected distractions turn gray.

Once the session is active, it runs until the timer ends even if you force-quit FocusVault.

Your work keeps its color.
FocusVault coming soon!

I would sit down to work, open what I needed, and somehow end up somewhere else.

A message. A video. A quick check of a feed.

Everything was competing for my attention, except the thing I actually wanted to work on.
This is what FocusVault is meant to solve.

[Opifex @Opifex__]

The idea was simple: make distractions look boring, while keeping my work in color.

Not another blocked app. Not a gray screen.

Just less visual pull from the things that keep taking me away from what I want to do.

[Opifex @Opifex__]

One more video. One more scroll. One more dopamine hit?

I got you
