3 reasons why group disability insurance is not enough:

1) if you leave that employer, it doesn’t come with you

2) most group policies are designed to get you off claim after 24 months, unless you are completely disabled from doing any type of work

3) if your employer is paying the premium, or if you’re paying it through your salary pre-tax, your hypothetical benefits would be taxed as income. BIG drop in real life usage.
