O' God, make me better than what they think of me
And forgive me for what they don't know about me
And don't take me to account for what they say about me 🙏🏿

🚨 KENYA'S WAKE-UP CALL.
Today, at the Miritini Treatment & Rehabilitation Centre in Mombasa, leaders declared war on a national emergency. 4.7 MILLION Kenyans—1 in every 6 adults—are using drugs. Mombasa leads with a staggering 34.4% prevalence.
@InteriorKE PS @ray_omollo didn't hold back: "These are our children, siblings, and future workforce. Behind every number is a life that can be saved." 🇰🇪
Kenya is moving beyond just enforcement—prevention, rehab & reintegration are now non-negotiable. #WorldDrugDay

🏥🤝 WE BROUGHT THE COMMUNITY TO THE TABLE. NEAR THE MITIRINI TREATMENT CENTRE.
This morning, we partnered with @reachout_ke to hold a community engagement forum with our Mwamlai neighbours – the community surrounding the Miritini Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre.
We reflected on:
✅ Progress from the earlier public participation forum
✅ Community security & coexistence
✅ Integration of transferred outpatient MAT clients from Kisauni
Our goal: A safe, supportive, conducive, and inclusive environment for recovery.
Present: Miritini Assistant Chief, community elders, religious leaders, peer educators & stakeholders.
We grow recovery together. 💚🏥
💊 LEGAL DRUGS. ILLEGAL USE. WE FOUND THE TRUTH.
We analyzed 48 wastewater samples and 104 drug samples for our Wastewater Analysis Report (May 2026).
What we discovered:
💊 Diazepam
💊 Tramadol
💊 Amitriptyline
These prescription drugs are among the most abused—turning legal medicine into illegal danger.
We have the evidence. Now we act.
💊 Prescription drugs. Abused. Widespread. Dangerous.
Our nationwide wastewater study just exposed a hidden epidemic:
🥇 Diazepam – most widely abused prescription drug
🥈 Trihexyphenidyl (Artane/Benzhexol)
🥉 Amitriptyline
📌 Tramadol
📌 Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol)
These aren't street drugs. They're medicines. Diverted. Misused. Turned into "legal highs."
📍 Found across 9 of 12 hotspot counties: Nairobi, Kiambu, Busia, Uasin Gishu, Mombasa, Kilifi, Nyeri, Kisumu, Garissa.
The pharmacy cabinet has become a drug den.

🚨 Not Prescribed? Not Safe. 🚨
Our latest Wastewater Analysis Report (May 2026) reveals a shocking truth:
Diazepam, tramadol, and amitriptyline – all legal prescription drugs – are now among the most abused substances in Kenya.

💊 104 drug samples

🚀 From Compliance to Real Impact – NACADA is shifting the paradigm!
At the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities & Agencies (RAAs) Conference 2026 in Kitui County, our CEO, @omerikwa, delivered a powerful presentation titled “From Compliance to Impact.”
🎯 His key message?
Moving beyond box-ticking regulations to measuring real-world outcomes of our programmes. How do we know if policies are truly saving lives? That’s the new benchmark.
💡 Great regulation isn’t just about rules – it’s about results.

📅 WEEKEND IS COMING. PLAN RESPONSIBLY. STAY SAFE.
As the weekend approaches, we remind you:
⚠️ Many risky behaviours linked to substance use happen on weekends, when supervision is reduced.
👨👩👧 Parents: Stay engaged.
🧠 Students: Make informed choices. Prioritise safety and well-being.
Let's protect our own.
📚 A new term. New opportunities. New choices.
Students, remember:
⚠️ Not everyone who introduces you to alcohol or drugs has your best interests at heart.
💙 True friendships = respect for each other's future.
✅ Choosing to stay drug-free = protecting YOUR goals + YOUR potential.
Choose wisely. Choose YOU. 💪
Nike spent millions on “Breaking2,” an attempt to break the 2 hour marathon by Eliud Kipchoge.
Kipchoge did it in Nikes in 2019, but it was with lazers and pacemakers. It didn’t count.
Today, 2 men do it officially. Both in adidas. The hits keep coming.
