Phaistos is now extrapolation.
I'll keep searching, exploring, paying my technical debts and having fun — until something clicks. There are constraints, but what's the pain when you enjoy what you're doing?.
Better to start messy than never.
Introducing Phaistos, my new newsletter on substack where I talk about my interest ( cryptography, blockchain and absolute bangers 🔥)

Irl might be possible to ask random dumb questions when surrounded with smart ppl but online I think it's hard especially if they don't really know you / your just starting out. That's why am so excited about ai.
@zooko That actually made me sad once like we shouldn’t be ashamed of asking humans and we miss out on a lot of potential connection (in the pre AI era)
something I love about using AI is that I'm not embarrassed to ask it the dumbest of questions that reveal the fact that I don't know the basics of my profession
There’s a lot of uncertainty in my life right now, personally and professionally. But I’m grateful. This is the chapter that will make the story worth talking about someday.
We love puzzles, so we acquired the secret to one of the most notorious puzzles in cryptographic history.
Kryptos is a sculpture at CIA headquarters with an encrypted message on it. The final 97 characters of it have never been solved.
Here's what we're doing with the solution.
“great writers do not write for money, but to express themselves and create and to achieve things.”
i almost never hear engineers describe their work this way - and the ones who do are steamrolled by an industry built around the hyperefficient.
at the end of the day (AGI), subjectivity will be all that makes us human and where work will still be important. i’ll say it again - this is the age of the wordcel.

novella I published earlier this year, readers and LLM's opinion is generally positive, though few readers got the part breaking the fourth wall
(needless to say, 100% written by me, zero AI generated text)
@abdibrokhim This post is one of the things I'm most proud of that received least attention. There are some beautiful ideas in the design and implementation of bitcoin. I should have done a video format of the post, I think it would have gotten ~100X+ more engagement. Maybe still possible.
