@viprabuddhi We just have to be more thick skinned about these kinds of news reports. When China was growing at 10%+ these kinds of headlines were also made about. It was almost a stereotype about headlines that goes like 'China does ___ but at what cost'.
@Prakhar81420407 That goes against the first principles of the republic that a Babu shall never be punished for their actions. Because if one Babu can be punished for babbling nonsense then all Babus can be punished for it as well.
@tilakdevasher1 I hope to have a chance to read it soon. I really enjoyed your previous books to the point I did a 10 year retrospective on Pakistan Courting the Abyss. I would love a forward looking book about the region from your perspective.

@WhitePillzONLY Nobody cares about UN recommendations. They are as vapid and meaningless as they get. It's best to ignore them as nobody reads these reports anyway.
another one whitewashing hinduphobia by claiming that "there has never been a civilisational threat à la antisemitism / islamophobia". your claim falls flat when you read how one of the worst massacres of modern history was driven by Hinduphobia & Nixon's hatred against India
You will hear this “argument” a lot more in the coming years, and of course it is not just some Americans, but many Chinese, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Marxists as well who feel so. Churchill himself famously said India is about as united as the equator. It is cope though. As the kids say, copium.
India is the world’s largest polity and will be for a long time by some distance. The state is new but the civilisation is ancient. The society is young but the culture is organically synthesised. Fraternity is a work in progress, but very real nonetheless. It is not just a historical contingency.
India will be the world’s largest economy again. Faster than most think. But a couple of decades here or there aside, where we can argue, the largest polities not being the largest economies globally is a recent aberration of a couple of centuries at most.
That aberration is going away as we see the great convergence, turbocharged by scale and in the short term the cycle. The meta-technology is the modern state itself. And India has the grandest civilisational republic of them all, warts and all.
@Balancing_Actor I'd argue the BJP has maintained fiscal prudence while creating space for more freebies. Often freebies come at the cost of reducing other subsidies or govt services.
@paakittadnya@Myquotesbouquet I wouldn't recommend it. It's too commercialized at this point and the darshan wasn't satisfactory. Probably the last time my family will go there.
@BannuNeo Open source has its own issues. The fact of the matter is no matter how cheaply Deepseek V4 flash can solve a problem it has a threshold regarding how complex of a problem it can solve. The issue in agentic tasks will be a limiter on the length of the task in OS models.
