That airbase is as big as Deesa village/town.

I always wondered how will an airbase fit in the existing small airstrip present along Deesa.

I was wrong - it is a new airstrip situated at some distance away from Deesa.

@cvkrishnan @KesariDhwaj IIRC, even in the Army whenever new regiments are raised (Artillery, Mech Inf) the existing regiments send some of their experienced men for a temporary period to help.

I can't comment on the number of men loaned to the new unit being raised, but this is how it is done.

The Blood, Guts and Glory Bde belongs to 36 RAPID

My original guess was that its an infantry brigade because its Armoured Brigade has some other name.
But I see BMPs in the pic - perhaps not theirs..

The brigade number remains elusive because of lack of any direct news report.

Looks like 861 Missile Regiment (Brahmos) which has been with 40 Artillery Division [II Corps (KHARGA), Western Command].
The 861 Msl Regt made its first appearance in 2008 Republic Day Parade and was first seen with 40 Arty Div in 2014.
