The agreed path forward:
- 0.14 ord version.
- Vindications ignored. Can be enabled in future.
- Handling for the edge case raised in the vindication PR. Linked below.
- Delegation/encoding ignored.
More to come. Thanks to all that came together to arrive at this solution.
We've just soft launched the first analytics platform for BRC-20 traders. Use it to find rising coins and follow prices and trades! https://t.co/msnkmK7EUT
Over the past month, an unprecedented number of people reached out to me with feedback about OpenOrdex or to discuss Ordinals. I'm extremely grateful for all of it, but it's also been quite stressful for me
I'm currently juggling my responsibilities as the blockchain research lead for Fireblocks while working on OpenOrdex any spare minute I have, to talking with collectors, traders, artists, enthusiasts, wallets teams, to having some resemblance of a personal life
I realized that I was nearing burnout, so I decided to take a step back. For the next week, I'll be AFK to recharge and refresh
After that, I plan to continue contributing to OpenOrdex and the Ordinals ecosystem, but at a slower pace than before. I want to make sure that it remains sustainable and enjoyable for me
Thank you for your understanding and support as I take this break. I'm looking forward to coming back refreshed and ready to continue building OpenOrdex and contributing to the Ordinals ecosystem at large
Big News!
We've rebranded from Stacks Ventures to Bitcoin Frontier Fund (@BTCFrontierFund)
We're doubling down on investing in startups building on Bitcoin L1 and Bitcoin Layers

Hot take: We could compare the inscription sectors current spot on a timeline to around the time local bitcoins came out for BTC p2p escrow.
The inscription sector is around summer 2012.
We are all early.
#Ordinals#BTC
@PunksOnBitcoin continues to be the collections with more buyers🟢 than sellers🔴, still @OrdinalDiamonds have suddenly started climbing - will values continue to go up?
I continue to think about what the future of digital collectibles might look like, given the recent emergence of #ordinals. Here’s one interesting observation I believe could play out in the near term and bring millions more into the #bitcoin ecosystem:
Take a look at the team behind @OrdinalsMarket_: they were one of the first to lean into #ordinals by finding a way for experienced NFT'ers on ETH to get into the game via @EmblemVault.
Emblem allows a digital collectible to living on #btc's main chain to gain exposure to all the markets and tools already established on ETH, all in a trustless, non-custodial manner. @Bitcoin_Punks_ emerged as the first to leverage this, with most of the volume being done on ETH while the actual NFT lives on, and can be moved around, BTC's chain.
So, what happens when some of the proven & established NFT projects realize their collections can live on the most proven & established blockchain (#BTC) rather than an AWS server via #ordinals, while also maintaining exposure to the markets and tools they've become accustomed to?
What happens if Bored Apes decide to burn their erc721 NFTs in exchange for an Ordinal Inscription of the same data? Users could easily keep using the tools they use now on ETH, but the data itself would have achieved more permanence and provenance.
We have precedent for a scenario like this: we've seen NFT projects migrate from one chain to another (such as @satoshibles going from ETH to STX), as well as others minting collections on ordinals inspired by their current collections (@DeGodsNFT) or testing the waters with an entirely new concept (@yugalabs w/ TwelveFold).
The tooling to make this possible in a seamless way are imminent, or (in this next example) already here: @MegapontNFT's MegaPunks Oridinals mint was done on ETH via erc721 tokens, whose metadata and tradability was locked after mint and the data migrated to #BTC via ordinals. Users holding the 721 had the options to have their inscribed ordinal sent to either an Emblem Vault (where they could continue to use it within the ETH ecosystem), or to a native BTC wallet to be used in the still-evolving/growing Ordinal ecosystem being built atop Bitcoin. The 721 tokens metadata was redacted, making them useless on ETH, and the entire collection data now lives forever on #btc.
With that, circling back to the beginning: as the Ordinals ecosystem continues to become more functional, safe and user-friendly, which legacy NFT community from one of the smart-contract chains will be THE FIRST to migrate their data to the premier blockchain, and simply use tools like Emblem to allow users to keep exposure to the legacy chain if they wish?
What happens when other NFT communities then realize they've missed out on being the first to make the move and want to be early?
Further, what happens when enough make the move that it becomes the obvious course of action for NFT communities going forward, and Ordinals becomes the new standard for "big league" digital collectibles?
All the dominos fall, and - just like P2P payments on LN and BTC DeFi on STX settle to #bitcoin - the majority of the collectible market ends up settling there as well. In this scenario, it's very possible that chains like ETH, SOL, MATIC and others are looked back upon as "testnets" for a market that was - in retrospect - always destined to return home to #btc.
So I'm here wondering: who will be the first to take the leap and - when that day comes - what will happen next?
If you made it this far into this thought experiment thank you for entertaining. Please feel free to share your thoughts (i look forward to them) and have a fantastic day 🤝
Spent the equivalent of one @yugalabs Twelvefold NFT on these 3 Ordinals💎💎
Taking a big bet on BTC here and early pioneers. @dan_files@OrdinalPenguins.
Think it will age well. As I found out quickly on ETH, you're either early or you get priced out.
