This decision will influence the future actions of OTA, but our mission to support TRIO programs, staff, and students remains unchanged.
Our vision of achieving educational equity and opportunity for marginalized student populations in Oregon also remains unchanged.
The Oregon TRIO Association (OTA) is committed to providing a welcoming environment for low-income and first-generation students in Oregon, especially during uncertain times in higher education accessibility.
We acknowledge the recent Supreme Court decision that prohibits using race as a factor in college admissions. However, OTA will continue its work to ensure that BIPOC students in Oregon receive the support they need to pursue a college degree at their chosen institution.
I was thrilled to welcome @thentaa to my DC office today. We discussed federal funding for higher education & college retention programs. TRIO supports disadvantaged students from diverse backgrounds to help them to prepare for and succeed in their college careers & onwards.
