@simonlewis @Forsaschoolsecs are hopeful that she will ensure that talks between @forsa_union_ie on #pensionparity will be resolved when a meaningful offer is placed on table. Otherwise we are back on picket line until there is a positive outcome for members.
Education Minister Helen McEntee has said the government is ready to discuss public service pensions if Fórsa, the union representing school secretaries and caretakers, comes to the table

Meet Marie. A short 🧵
She's a retired school secretary, who despite having no public service pension herself, is still out at rallies.
She’s pictured here with Ana and Anita, two secretaries who now work in her former school in Dublin #PensionParity
Teacher unions & Principals’ associations need to step up now.
Don’t hide behind the 1990 Act: there are clear safety at work grounds to close schools & instruct teachers not to pass pickets
Secretaries and caretakers need action, not best wishes.
@ciaraquill You’re totally right but I know a lot have. Secretaries still know what’s going on in their school and already know the work is being done. One secretary was very upset about it at the rally yesterday cause she’d been told she is supported and there was someone doing her work 😞
School secretaries & caretakers need equity & pension rights.
Pickets at schools across the country will start on Monday. Govt cannot sit by & let this happen.
With no WRC process in sight, a Labour Court intervention is needed now.
@forsa_union_ie #pensionparity
Thank you Mary Lou.
We are told we are the 'backbone' of our schools.
Well, what happens when you remove the backbone?!
And Government are presiding over all this.
#pensionparity
The @forsa_union_ie school secretaries + caretakers campaign for pension equity has been incredibly positive + has huge public support This indefinite strike will see pickets from Monday could possibly lead to schools closing. Time for the Labour Court to intervene @irishcongress
School Secretaries and Caretakers have something to say to "No direct promises to the workers" from the Minister.
Kicking off at 5 rallies around the country. The energy and power is unbelievable #PensionParity
Over the last two days thousands of school secretaries and caretakers have taken strike action and mobilised in large numbers to demand pension parity.
From Monday the dispute will escalate with pickets at schools with the potential for widespread disruption. The failure of the government to try and deal with this issue is reckless in the extreme. It is time to get the Labour Court to intervene in this dispute and call parties to a hearing.
