@ThirstRoundPick If not for that error, the orioles still scored 0 runs. You cannot win a game with 0 runs. The question is not, why did albernaz not micro manage a grown man. The question is, why are the orioles not playing their best lineup?
@WalterMaselli1 I appreciate you eating your own words. Too many here only self quote when they think they're right. Young players with high upside have plenty of time to figure it out. Even Holliday and Henderson can still turn into the players we expected.
@Filler8@DM_Rubenstein If you can say that with a straight face, you're too young to remember Angelos of the late '90s. He turned the fan base before they started losing. Fired Davey Johnson and Jon Miller at their peaks.
@JulianTBaron (7) If the Orioles want those fans back, the real fans who attend through good times and bad, they need to fix the things that they have 100% control of, but they better do it soon before those fans find other ways to spend their time and money.
@JulianTBaron (6) but the Orioles did not even notify me. I tried to renew, but the seats were not available. It looks weeks of inquiry to learn that the seats were physically gone. Who does that? Real fans have stopped attending because they are not valued, not because of Elias.
@JulianTBaron (5) ...an organization that has lost touch with its fanbase. We attended through much worse times because we were valued. We stopped when we ceased to be valued. My seats for the last 18 years and many others who I've heard from were literally removed to make other improvement
@JulianTBaron (3) They likely expected that despite them hitting the fans in the wallet, their player acquisitions would lead to wins and thus making people forget how much more it costs to go to a game. That backfired due to terrible performance. It isn't about Mome Elias. It is about...
@JulianTBaron (3) But they failed to acknowledge that average ticket price and average concessions are more than most other organizations. Many people stopped attending because while @DM_Rubenstein cannot control the quality of play, he has the final say on fan experience. That has declined.
@JulianTBaron (2) Last offseason the Orioles raised ticket prices and changed the lowest plan from 13 games to 20 (and 26 to 40). More money per ticket and more games required. When people protested the response was that they are trying to keep pace with other organizations.
@JulianTBaron What you're saying in theory sounds great. But it's in isolation. The Orioles poor play is the reason fair weather fans do not attend. I attended 15-20 games per year and went to some road games each year from the mid '00s to '25. About 20 years, with mostly awful teams. (1)
@jcalvinmeyer And stop pissing fans off by raising prices on tickets and concessions while requiring larger game commitments for ticket plans. You can't suck and raise prices and still expect crowds.
@BritishOrioles ... the team and only use analytics to inform him and his game plan. They need to stop playing for the three true outcomes (BB, K, HR) and start hitting situationally. If you have two on and two out, take a pitch to opposite field. Stop chasing spin rate. Stress location.
